Over the last decades, several data preservation efforts have been undertaken by the HEP community, as experiments are not repeatable and consequently their data considered unique. ARCHIVER is a European Commission (EC) co-funded Horizon 2020 pre-commercial procurement project procuring R&D combining multiple ICT technologies including data-intensive scalability, network, service interoperability and business models, in a hybrid cloud environment. The results will provide the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) with archival and preservation services covering the full research lifecycle. The services are co-designed in partnership with four research organisations (CERN, DESY, EMBL-EBI and PIC/IFAE) deploying use cases from Astrophysics, HEP, Life Sciences and Photon-Neutron Sciences creating an innovation ecosystem for specialist data archiving and preservation companies willing to introduce new services capable of supporting the expanding needs of research. The HEP use cases being deployed include the CERN Opendata portal, preserving a second copy of the completed BaBar experiment and the CERN Digital Memory digitising CERN’s multimedia archive of the 20th century. In parallel, ARCHIVER has established an Early Adopter programme whereby additional use cases can be incorporated at each of the project phases thereby expanding services to multiple research domains and countries.

AbstractThe process $$e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → K + K - π 0 is studied with the SND detector at the VEPP-2000 $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collider. Basing on data with an integrated luminosity of 26.4 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 we measure the $$e^+e^-\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → K + K - π 0 cross section in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.28 up to 2 GeV. The measured mass spectrum of the $$K\pi $$ K π system indicates that the dominant mechanism of this reaction is the transition through the $$K^{*}(892)K$$ K ∗ ( 892 ) K intermediate state. The cross section for the $$\phi \pi ^0$$ ϕ π 0 intermediate state is measured separately. The SND results are consistent with previous measurements in the BABAR experiment and have comparable accuracy. We study the effect of the interference between the $$\phi \pi ^0$$ ϕ π 0 and $$K^*K$$ K ∗ K amplitudes. It is found that the interference gives sizable contribution to the measured $$e^+e^- \rightarrow \phi \pi ^0\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^0$$ e + e - → ϕ π 0 → K + K - π 0 cross section below 1.7 GeV.

The decay \mathbf{\tau^{-}\to K^{-}K_S\nu_{\tau}}𝛕−→𝐊−𝐊𝐒𝛎𝛕 has been studied using \mathbf{430\times10^6 ~ e^+e^-\to \tau^+\tau^-}430×106𝐞+𝐞−→𝛕+𝛕− events produced at a center-of-mass energy around 10.6 GeV at the PEP-II collider and studied with the BABAR detector. The mass spectrum of the \mathbf{K^{-}K_S}𝐊−𝐊𝐒 system has been measured and the spectral function has been obtained. The measured branching fraction \mathbf{{\cal B}(\tau^{-}\to K^{-}K_S\nu_{\tau})= (0.739\pm 0.011(\rm stat.)\pm 0.020(\rm syst.))}\mathbf{\times 10^{-3}}×10−3 is found to be in agreement with earlier measurements.

We report the results on the channels e+e−→ π+π−π0π0π0(η), e+e−→ π+π−η. Also we present the study of the two-photon process e+e−→ e+e−η' in the double-tag mode. The results for the form factor are compared with the predictions based on pQCD and VMD. The results are obtained by using the full data set of about 470 fb−1 collected by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II e+e−collider at a center-of-mass energy of about 10.6 GeV.

Two recent studies from the BABAR experiment at SLAC on low-energy hadronic final states in e+e− annihilations are presented. The first study provides the first-ever measurement of the γ*γ*→ η' transition factor, where γ* denotes an off-shell photon. The second study provides the first-ever measurements of the e+e−→ π+ π−π0π0π0 and π+π−π0π0η cross sections, including studies of the intermediate resonance states and the corresponding J/ψ and ψ(2S) branching fractions.

The 3.6 standard deviation discrepancy between the standard model (SM) prediction for the muon anomalous magnetic moment gμ - 2 and the corresponding experimental measurement is one of the most persistent and intriguing potential signals in particle physics for physics beyond the SM. The largest uncertainty in the SM prediction for gμ - 2 arises from the uncertainty in the measured low energy inclusive e+e- → hadrons cross section. New results from the BABAR experiment at SLAC for the e+e- → π+ π- π0 π0 and e+e- → KK ππ cross sections are presented that significantly reduce this uncertainty. New BABAR results for other low energy exclusive hadronic processes are also discussed.
