This study aimed to determine whether risk awareness of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) affects visits to national parks. We analyzed the tourist decision-making process during the current pandemic using the theory of planned behavior as a framework, adding variables relevant to the pandemic, such as risk perception and risk reduction behavior, to the model. Based on a literature review, we developed a research model describing the impact relationship between risk perception, the theory of planned behavior, and risk reduction behavior and tested nine hypotheses. Results of a survey of 555 visitors to two national parks supported eight of the nine hypotheses. Although the results are limited, they reaffirm the usefulness of the theory of planned behavior in explaining tourism behavior. This work is significant in that we would be able to extend the scope of subsequent research beyond a discussion of the direct effects on optimistic perceptions (bias) and risk reduction behavior as well as visit intention, by explaining the probability even in unprecedented crises such as COVID-19. Humans may be negotiating the constraints (COVID-19) or embodied tourism need through the personal bias. Furthermore, we discuss the theoretical implications of the results for tourism behavior research.

Slow current modernization reforms in the economic sector have significantly weakened the competitiveness of enterprises in EU; therefore, there is a great need for new tools in the managerial decision-making process. Information provision of the decision-making process on expediency of investment activity in the form of capital investments is formed within thelimits of strategic management accounting. In the research except for various analytical methods (analysis, synthesis, comparison, grouping, etc.) a “decisions tree” method is used for choosinga reasonable solution. In the study, strategic management accounting has been defined as a separate kind of management accounting, which involves generation of high-quality information. Certain tools may be applied within it for the decisions made by managers, based on established business partnership with successful implementation of business strategy. Five most widespread groups of tools of strategic management accounting are cost accounting; planning, monitoringand evaluation of effectiveness; strategic decisions; competitor accounting; customer accounting. It is recommended to complete the list of instruments integrated within the five groupsby a separate group – a specific category of supplier accounting that would contribute to the generation of more complete and qualitative information provision for the process of making managerial decisions on the appropriateness of capital investments in the investment activityof the enterprise in EU. The research made it possible to reach the following conclusions. Important components should be taken into account in order to fulfil strategic management accountingof the company in a proper way. Those are data sources choice, collecting and processing of information, choice of instruments of strategic management accounting, formation of internal regulation of strategic management accounting, development and supply of accountingand analytical information; process of solutions development, and the choice, which canprovide generation of necessary information for competitive managerial decisions made by managers. Application of advanced tools for strategic management accounting, which give information to meet issues related to the characteristics of consumers, competitors, suppliers, project costs, assessment of investment feasibility in the project, is caused by the necessity of competitive decision-making with the help of the above-offered decisions tree tool usage

One of the critical issues in agent’s risk decisions is perception, specially because it assumes a key role on the decision process. This subject has not received enough attention in agent’s modelling literature. Until now, the main focus has been on the decision making process of agent’s and consecutive interpretation of their behaviours. In this sense, risk literature needs to focus on perception. It is through this cognitive process that all relation between individuals and the risk event will be recognized. In this sense, agent’s make decisions about a specific type of risk by taking into account their own perception. To help understanding how perception works, it became necessary to design the mechanisms and consequent context dimensions involved on it. Following this objective, we defined an architecture explaining this cognitive process. An architecture for agents’ risk perception complemented by the associated factors of context dimensions, in order to understand this subjective process, that happen in our minds  .

Straipsnyje analizuojama Seimo narių informacinė elgsena priimant sprendimus parlamentinėje veikloje. Remiantis 2011 metų sausio–vasario mėnesiais atlikto kokybinio tyrimo duomenimis, atskleidžiami Seimo narių informacijos poreikiai, Seimo narių naudojamos informacijos ieškos strategijos, veiksniai, turintys įtakos jų informacijos ieškos elgsenai, informacijos naudojimo tikslai, Seimo narių požiūris į Seimo informacinį aprūpinimą, iškylančias problemas ir galimus jų sprendimo būdus bei informacijos poveikį priimamiems sprendimams. Duomenys surinkti naudojant asmeninio pokalbio (interviu) metodą, o duomenų analizei pasirinktas kokybinės turinio (content) analizės metodas.Reikšminiai žodžiai: sprendimų priėmimas, informacinė elgsena, informacijos ieška, informacijos poreikiai, informacinis aprūpinimas. The information behaviour of the Seimas members in decision-making processRenata Blagnienė Summary Decisions of the highest authorities condition the welfare of society. Therefore, the issue of the racionalisation of their decisions is very important. The need to reveal the grounds of the decisions of lawmakers calls for investigating their information behaviour, i.e. their behaviour in the process of information seeking, its optimization and application in the process of decision-making. The lack of research of information behaviour (from the point of view of lawmakers rather than of information providers), both in Lithuania and abroad, makes this paper innovative. In the plethora of research of information behaviour, investigations of the effect on information behaviour of parliamentarians in decision-making process are scarce. In Lithuania, no comprehensive research of the effect of information behaviour of MPs on their decisions has been conducted, with the exception of several publications about the provision of information to MPs. The subject of the research is the lack of reliable information about the infor mation needs of individual members of the Seimas and their information seeking strategies and the application of information in decision-making process. Information provision in the Seimas is organized on the basis of the traditional universal and comprehensive information provision method. More attention is given to information handling, edification of the quality of products without going into the issue of the sufficient use of prepared information and its impact on decision-making and the quality of decisions. It is difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of information services, to ensure the optimal information provision and to plan changes on the basis of assumed (therefore, not necessarily existing) model of information behaviour of the Seimas members. Understanding the factors that influence the process of decision-making and revealing the information provision problems from the perspective of lawmakers rather than of a provider of information creates prerequisites for a better and more qualified information provision. The lack of empirical research on information behaviour of the Seimas members determines the investigative nature of the present research. Attempts were made to collect as much as possible information on information needs, its seeking and use of the MPs and to reveal the factors having the greatest impact on the information seeking behaviour of the MPs. The object of research was to reveal the information behaviour of the Seimas members in the process of decision-making in their parliamentary activities. The research is focused on three major elements of information behaviour: information needs, information seeking, and information use. The aim of the research was to investigate the information behaviour of MPs, to reveal its main characteristics and to determine the variables that influence such behaviour. To achieve the aim of the research, the methods of scientific literature analysis, personal interviews, and qualitative content analysis were used. Nine respondents were interviewed during partially structural interviews which lasted 25 to 45 minutes. Transcribed texts were analyzed using the method of content analysis. The results of the research revealed the following: years of service in the Parliament and information environment have the greatest effect on the selection of information seeking strategy of MPs; the dominating information needs are those associated with lawmaking; therefore, the use of information is most intensive in this field; information seeking is realized via intermediaries; the main problem associated with information seeking is the lack of time; other problems are associated with information management, the lack of computer skills, and work organization. The respondents positively assessed the information environment of the Seimas, but certain critical remarks were expressed regarding information resources, information expedition, the quality of information services, the competencies of the staff. They suggested certain solutions to the problems.
