Introduction. Restorative dental treatment of patients with a generalized form of amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) remains a challenge even today. The treatment approach is multidisciplinary and includes action of several dental disciplines such as restorative, orthodontic, and prosthetic dental specialties. Case report. A 18-year-old female patent was referred to the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology at the Military Medical Academy of Belgrade, Serbia. She was diagnosed with AI and formerly had been treated for a long period of time at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. Her primary concern upon arrival was discomfort and concern for the esthetic appearance of the anterior teeth. The treatment was done with the modified clear matrix technique used in composite veneer restoration of teeth in the esthetic zone. Conclusion. Because fixed prosthetic restoration with crowns, is the final treatment of AI patients it involves severe tooth structure loss. The clear matrix method which was done in this case allowed for greater comfort, functionality, simplicity, speed, greater economic efficiency and tooth structure preservation.

Objective: to emphasize the importance of Pediatric Dentistry in the dental treatment planning as a first step of rehabilitation in a pediatric patient diagnosed with Cleidocranial Dysplasia (CCD). Case Report: this study presents the case of a ten years old girl, with CCD diagnosis, which attended the Sector of Pediatric Dentistry of São Leopoldo Mandic School of Dentistry - Campinas / São Paulo sent by orthopedist, your main complaint was the delay on superior anterior teeth irruption. Needs preventive, curative, rehabilitative, orthodontic and surgical dental treatment. After an interdisciplinary planning, a treatment proposal was nominated and accepted by responsibles’ patient.

Case Report. An 8-year-old girl with amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) reported unsatisfactory aesthetics, difficulty in mastication, and dental hypersensitivity. The intraoral examination observed mixed dentition, malocclusion in anteroposterior relationships, anterior open bite, and dental asymmetry. A hypoplastic form of AI was diagnosed in the permanent dentition. A multidisciplinary planning was performed and divided into preventive, orthopedic, and rehabilitation stages. Initially, preventive treatment was implemented, with fluoride varnish applications, in order to protect the fragile enamel and reduce the dental sensitivity. In the second stage, the patient received an interceptive orthopedic treatment to improve cross-relationship of the arches during six months. Finally, the rehabilitation treatment was executed to establish the vertical dimension. In the posterior teeth, indirect composite resin crowns were performed with minimally invasive dental preparation. Direct composite resin restorations were used to improve the appearance of anterior teeth.Follow-Up. The follow-up was carried out after 3, 6, 12, and 18 months. After 18 months of follow-up, The restoration of integrity, oral hygiene, and patient satisfaction were observed .Conclusion. Successful reduction of the dental hypersensitivity and improvement of the aesthetic and functional aspects as well as quality of life were observed.

Cosmetic veneer has become a popular option for patients seeking to improve aesthetic in their smile. The procedure can be done through a direct or indirect technique which differs in term of material used and laboratory involvement. Despite producing a better aesthetic result than its direct technique counterpart, high-cost treatment, multiple visit requirement and invasive nature of tooth preparation are proven to be a stumbling block to the patient in some cases to choose indirect technique. Therefore, direct composite veneer technique can be offered due to its low costing and conservative concept which advocates more tooth structure preservation. This case report is about direct composite veneer for anterior teeth rehabilitation and its simple and conservative protocol.

People have become increasingly concerned about esthetics as a perfect smile gives patients more confidence and make them feel comfortable in social circumstances. Esthetic dental treatment plays an important role in improving personal appearance. Advances in dental materials have led to innovations in porcelain laminate veneers and bonding materials which has improved the overall quality of the esthetic restorations. This case report describes the rehabilitation of a patient with spacing in mandibularanterior teeth, who was concerned with his facial appearance, with ceramic laminate veneers.

Crown fracture of maxillary anterior teeth is frequent dental injuries for which patients seek immediate dental treatment. Immediate reattachment of the intact fractured tooth segment is a therapeutic choice in such cases. This case report presents one of the best methods used for reattachment, which is an ultraconservative technique. It allows the restoration of original tooth contour, colour and aesthetics. Amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) has been defined as a group of hereditary enamel defects. It can be characterized by enamel hypoplasia, hypomaturation, or hypocalcification of the teeth. AI may be associated with some other dental and skeletal developmental defects. Restoration for patients with this condition should be oriented toward the functional and esthetic rehabilitation. This clinical report describes the oral rehabilitation of a young patient diagnosed with the hypoplastic type of AI in posterior teeth and hypomatured type of AI in anterior teeth.

Background: Erbium chromium or erbium lasers constitute preferred instruments for the preparation of that section of tooth adjacent to the pulp chamber rather than high-speed drills, especially in cases of dental injury. Their advantages can support modified operations in achieving optimum recovery and avoiding complications related to the healing process. Purpose: The aim of the study was to describe another modality of the assistance of erbium, chromium:yattrium-scandium-gallium-garnet (Er,Cr:YSGG) laser in traumarelated pulp injury affecting the anterior teeth. Case(s): The results of laser treatment applied to four pulp injuries of three children were analyzed in this case report. Case Management: Er,Cr:YSGG laser-assisted cavity preparation was performed without resort to a local anesthetic, the cavities being sealed with mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). None of the cases demonstrated symptomatic or peri-radicular pathology during clinical or radiographic examinations. Conclusion: The results contained in this case report support the application in pediatric dentistry of a Er,Cr:YSGG laser to pulpotomy cavities as part of the treatment of traumatic pulpal injuries to permanent incisors.

Abstract Aim The purpose of this case report is to present the esthetic and functional rehabilitation of the teeth in a 20-year-old patient with amelogenesis imperfecta (AI), facial asymmetry due to functional mandibular shift, and unilateral posterior crossbite. Background AI is a group of hereditary defects of enamel unassociated with any other generalized defects. AI results in poor development or the complete absence of the enamel of the teeth caused by improper differentiation of ameloblasts. Case Description This report describes the diagnosis and treatment of a young female patient with AI and facial asymmetry using a combined orthodontic-prosthodontic approach. Initially, the posterior crossbite, mandibular shift, and facial asymmetry were treated orthodontically. Later, metal-ceramic crowns for posterior teeth and allceramic crowns for anterior teeth were fabricated for final restorations. Summary Coordinated orthodontic and prosthodontic treatment, with careful consideration of patient expectations and requests, were critical for a successful outcome and patient satisfaction. Clinical Significance The complexity of the management of patients with AI supports the suggestion that the dental profession should have appropriate methods for the rehabilitation of rare dental disorders. Background: Trauma to the anterior teeth is common in young children and in adolescents. Uncomplicated crown fracture to the permanent teeth has an intense effect not only on the patient’s esthetics, but also on speech and function. Aim: Performing an economical, a minimally invasive, time-saving, long lasting, functional and natural alike direct composite resin restorations in a single visit. Conclusion: As restoring a fractured tooth structure is a complex procedure, this technique can prove to be a simple, effective and appropriate technique that will fulfill all the requirements of dental practioner without requiring special skills in providing the patients with direct composite restorations. Clinical Significance: This technique is economical which requires less chair side time compared to indirect restorations.
