Abstract This article responds to a simple question: What are the distinctive contributions of Pentecostalism to the making of world Christianity? We cannot touch on every conceivable point in the discussion, and thus for our purposes I identify seven major interrelated areas that ought to stimulate our thoughts in reflecting on Pentecostalism as a global movement influencing world Christianity today. This article is devoted neither to global pentecostal statistical returns, as important as that may be, nor to the different types of pentecostal/charismatic movements in the world. Rather, I focus on the critical importance of the experience of the Holy Spirit as the religious core of this stream of Christianity and the practical ways in which the Spirit has inspired pentecostal activity in the world.

Tong-il is the Korean title of a movement known in the West as The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity, or the Union Church. God has formed Tong-il as an instrument of purification and renewal, bringing a new truth telling all men about the purpose of life, the responsibility of man, the way to establish a world of brotherhood and love and make the world into one family. This truth will raise Christianity to a higher dimension and give it the power and zeal which it needs to achieve God's purpose at the time of the second Advent. Tong-il works to renew Christianity, but its ultimate goal is to unite all religions, with its founder as a centre.

This chapter explores some connections between umunthu (a Malawian translation of Ubuntu) and the Christian faith in the hope that a dialogue between these two key themes of contemporary African life contributes to emerging postcolonial theological discourse in the world, especially at a time when African Christians are increasingly becoming the most visible and vocal in world Christianity. To do this, the chapter begins by reflecting on how the author's community in southern Malawi understands umunthu and the implications that growing up surrounded by this Ubuntu-shaped community has had on his own religious identity and thought and his understanding of the world. Following this, it explores umunthu in the context of postcolonial Christian Africa and the African diaspora. In the end, it calls for African Christians to find innovative ways to let ubuntu shape their Christianity.

This article marks the thirty-eighth year of including statistical information on World Christianity and mission in the International Bulletin of Mission Research. This year it includes details on the growth of world religions, increasing religious diversity, and personal contact between Christians and people of other religions. The world is becoming more religious, and the world’s countries have become more religiously diverse, yet Christians have inadequate personal contact with members of other religions. Solidarity, including friendship, love, and hospitality, is posited as the way forward in addressing these trends.

Enggar Objantoro, Religious Pluralism and Christian Responses. Religious pluralism be-lieves that all religions are equal. Pluralists believe that the truths in religions have the same value, there is no religions higher than other. Religious pluralism is serious challenge for Christianity, because they reject the biblical truth that Jesus is only the savior for human being in the world. Christianity has to response to the pluralist critiques over the biblical truths, based on the Word of God. Evangelical theologians believe that the biblical truth is unique, and is just in Christianity. It is different with the truths of other religions.
