The genus Pilobatella (Oribatida, Haplozetidae) comprises 10 species, which are distributed in the Palaeotropical region; this includes two new species described herein on the basis of adult specimens sampled from forest leaf litter in Andasibe-Mantadia National Park of eastern Madagascar. Pilobatella mikoi n. sp. is similar to Pilobatella baloghi Mahunka, 2003 in having long interlamellar setae and adanal setae ad1 and ad2, but differs by having monodactylous legs (versus tridactylous) and a bothridial seta that is gradually expanded to a narrow head (versus setiform, without head). Pilobatella kovaci n. sp. is similar to P. mikoi n. sp. in having monodactylous legs, long interlamellar setae and adanal setae ad1 and ad2, but differs by the presence of lineolate notogaster and anogenital region (versus lineolate markings absent), long tutoria (versus tutoria of medium length), rounded trochanters distodorsally (versus pointed) and clearly distanced medial ends of apodemes 2 (versus nearly touching at midline). A revised generic diagnosis and an identification key to known species of Pilobatella are presented.

AbstractMorphology, distribution, and habitat data are presented for three species of the oribatid mite genus Gymnodampia Jacot occurring in North America. A revised generic diagnosis is given and the type species Gymnodampia setata (Berlese) is redescribed based on topotypic material from Missouri. Immatures of G. setata are described and aspects of their biology are presented. Two new species from North America, G. jacotisp. nov. and G. lindquistisp. nov., are proposed and described on the basis of adults, and a key is given for North American species of Gymnodampia. The ameroid genera Cristamerus Hammer, from Pakistan and China, and Defectamerus Aoki, from Japan, Korea, and China, are considered junior synonyms of Gymnodampia, and G. conformis (Fujikawa) is considered a junior synonym of G. fusca (Fujikawa). Immatures of G. setata are apheredermous, but with a circular line of dehiscence, whereas known immatures of the superfamily Ameroidea are eupheredermous. Nonetheless, without convincing apomorphic traits linking Gymnodampia to any known apheredermous family of Brachypylina, we hypothesize that Gymnodampia has lost the eupheredermy characteristic of Ameroidea, and we place it in the family Ameridae on the basis of adult similarities.

The oribatid mite genus Gephyrazetes (Oribatida, Mochlozetidae) is recorded for the first time in the Ethiopian region; one new species is described from soil and litter of Korup National Park in Cameroon. Gephyrazetes umukusumae sp. nov. differs from G. fasciatus Hirauchi, 1999 by the larger body size, truncate lamellar cusps, setiform bothridial setae, very small notogastral porose areas, paraanal position of adanal lyrifissures, presence of four pairs of genital setae and tuberculate lateral parts of prodorsum, and absence of dorsosejugal and sublamellar porose areas. Revised generic diagnosis and the data on distribution and ecology of Gephyrazetes species are presented.

The present study is based on oribatid mite materials (Acari, Oribatida) collected from Taiwan in 2009–2010. A list of identified taxa, including 34 species from 30 genera and 21 families, is presented; of these, the subspecies Tectocepheus velatus sarekensis, the species Suctobelbella (Flagrosuctobelba) cf. elegantula, Paralamellobates misella, Protoribates paracapucinus, Perscheloribates nodosus and Scheloribates (Bischeloribates) dalawaeus, the subgenera Uracrobates (Parauracrobates) and Scheloribates (Bischeloribates), and the genera Scapheremaeus and Brassiella are recorded in the fauna of Taiwan for the first time. The species Camisia hamulifera and Fissicepheus defectus are recorded in the Oriental region for the first time. Two new species belonging to the genera Galumna (Galumnidae) and Uracrobates (Mochlozetidae) are described. Galumna (Galumna) tsengi sp. nov. differs from G. (G.) makilingensis Ermilov, Corpuz-Raros & Tolstikov, 2014 by the clavate heads of the bothridial setae, slightly dilated  porose areas Aa in posterolateral parts, not boomerang shaped, and by the erect interlamellar setae, which are shorter than the lamellar setae. Uracrobates (Parauracrobates) newtaipeiensis sp. nov. differs from U. (P.) truncatus Ermilov & Martens, 2015 by the absence of well-developed lateral teeth on the lamellar cusps, foveolate notogaster and anogenital region and the medium length of the anal and adanal setae.

Two new species of the genus Eutegaeus (Oribatida, Eutegaeidae) are described based on specimens from moss in the Queulat National Park of Chile. Eutegaeus aysenensis sp. nov. (description based on the adult, larva, deuto- and tritonymph) is morphologically similar to that of Eutegaeus lagrecai in having long, flagellate interlamellar and notogastral setae and rod-like bothridial seta; it differs from the latter by having smaller body size and comparatively long bothridial seta, the lamella having anteromedial process, and by the absence of striate ornamentation on notogaster. Eutegaeus queulatensis sp. nov. (description based on the adult, proto- and tritonymph) is morphologically similar to that of Eutegaeus membraniger in having a triangular anteromedial lamellar process, long, rod-like bothridial seta, foveate lamella, and dorsal notogastral setae of medium length; it differs from the latter by having smaller body length, thickened notogastral setae, flagellate interlamellar setae, setiform lamellar setae, a tubercle on epimere III, and absence of an anterolateral tooth on the lamella. Based on new information, several characters in the generic diagnosis of Eutegaeus adults are modified or expanded, and a preliminary diagnosis for juveniles is presented. The larva of E. aysenensis sp. nov. is the first to be described for the genus. Nymphs of four species of Eutegaeus are compared.

The genus Eutegaeus (Oribatida, Eutegaeidae) comprises 13 species, which are distributed in the Australian, Neotropical and Antarctic regions; of these, two new species are described from litter in the relictual Valdivian forest of Chile. Eutegaeus parapapuaensis sp. nov. (description based on the adult and tritonymph) differs from Eutegaeus papuensis Aoki, 1964 by the absence of translamella, interbothridial tubercles, notogastral setae h3 and epimeral setae 3a. Eutegaeus paralagrecai sp. nov. (description based on the adult and proto-, deuto- and tritonymph) differs from Eutegaeus lagrecai Arcidiacono, 1993 by the presence of lanceolate bothridial setae and long notogastral setae p1, and the absence of striate ornamentation on the notogaster. A revised generic diagnosis and an identification key to known species of Eutegaeus are presented. Nymphs of Eutegaeus and related genera in Eutegaeoidea are compared.

The present study is based on oribatid mite material (Acari, Oribatida) collected from the Cameroonian Korup National Park in 2016. A list of identified taxa, including 51 species from 33 genera and 19 families, is presented; of these, 28 species, 16 genera and 6 families are recorded in Cameroon for the first time. Two new species belonging to the genera Lasiobelba and Haplozetes are described: Lasiobelba camerunica sp. nov. differs from Lasiobelba decui (Vasiliu & Ivan, 1995) by the presence of eight pairs of notogastral setae (c represented by alveoli, h3 and their alveoli absent), spindle-form bothridial setae with distinct thin apex and longer notogastral setae la, lm and lp; Haplozetes paracancellatus sp. nov. differs from Haplozetes cancellatus Beck, 1964 by the presence of long interlamellar setae and foveolate anogenital region.

A new subgenus, with two new species, of the genus Cavernocepheus (Oribatida, Otocepheidae) are described from soil and litter of Korup National Park in Cameroon. Cavernocepheus (Paracavernocepheus) subgen. nov. differs from the nominative subgenus by the presence of four pairs of genital setae. Revised generic and subgeneric diagnoses and an identification key to the known taxa of the genus Cavernocepheus are presented.

The genus Mesotritia (Oribatida, Oribotritiidae) was represented by eight species in China prior to this work. In this study, two new species, Mesotritia baxoiensis sp. nov. from Tibet and Mesotritia paranitida sp. nov. from Xinjiang, are described. An identification key to Chinese species of Mesotritia is provided to facilitate the further study on this group.

The present study is based on oribatid mite material (Acari, Oribatida) collected from Tam Dao National Park (Northern Vietnam) in 1988. A list of identified taxa, including 119 species from 80 genera and 47 families, is presented; of these, 13 species (Epilohmannoides rabori, Camisia spinifer, Sadocepheus undulatus, Eremobelba flexuosa, Hammerella excisa, Suctobelbella inenodabilis, Dolicheremaeus auritus, Eupelops acromios, Protoribates genitalis, Allogalumna machadoi, Carinogalumna philippinensis, Pergalumna magnipora capillaris, Galumnella nipponica) and five genera (Epilohmannoides, Camisia, Sadocepheus, Brassiella, Carinogalumna) are recorded in the Vietnamese fauna for the first time, and two species (Tokunocepheus mizusawai, Flagellozetes (Cosmogalumna) ornatus), one genus (Tokunocepheus) and one family (Tokunocepheidae) are recorded in the Oriental region for the first time. Two new species are described: Ramusella paraarcuata sp. nov. differs from Ramusella arcuata Mahunka & Mahunka-Papp, 2012 by the larger body size, lamellar setae similar in length and thickness to interlamellar setae, the presence of two or three branches on bothridial setae, and the absence of notogastral setae c. Neoribates paragracilis sp. nov. differs from Neoribates gracilis Travé, 1972 by the larger body size, and the presence of long apex (not shorter than head) on bothridial setae.

Two new species of the subgenus Galumna (Galumna) (Oribatida, Galumnidae) are described from leaf litter of evergreen rain forest in eastern Madagascar. Galumna brevilineata sp. nov. differs from its closest species Galumna (Galumna) anuakensis Ermilov, 2019 and Galumna paracalcicola Ermilov & Anichkin 2014 by the length of interlamellar and lamellar setae, the localization of notogastral lyrifissures im, the ornamentation of anogenital region, the morphology of bothridial setae and postanal porose area, and the absence of median pore. Galumna (Galumna) paraarmatifera sp. nov. differs from its closest species Galumna armatifera Mahunka, 1996 by the morphology of bothridial setae and anal plates, and the length of circumpedal carinae. An identification key to species of Galumna (Galumna) of the calcicola-group (species with short lamellar lines) was presented.
