The genus Allodiatrype (Diatrypaceae, Xylariales) is reported for the first time collected in Taiyang River National Forest Park, Yunnan Province. An undescribed Allodiatrype species is described and illustrated as a new species based on a combination of morphological characteristics and sequences data of ITS, SSU and TUB2. The new species is characterized by its Y-shaped or cruciate-shaped ostiolar surface, yellowish-green to the green inner layer, and hyaline, ellipsoidal to cylindrical or elongate-allantoid ascospores. The differences between the new species and the related fungi are discussed.

A new species of Oecanthus is described from extreme northeast California. Oecanthus salviisp. nov. is currently known only from Lake Annie in Modoc County, California, and occurs on sagebrush (Artemisia) and rabbitbrush (Ericameria). It has the narrow tegmina, antennal markings, metanotal gland configuration, and trilling song found in the Oecanthus nigricornis species group. Song details and morphology, including the shape of the subgenital plate and copulatory blades, are provided in this paper. This new species has been given the common name of sage tree cricket.

A new species of Ripipteryx Newman (Orthoptera: Tridactyloidea: Ripipterygidae) is described from a fragment of primary Andean forest on the slopes of the extinct Pasochoa volcano in Pichincha Province, northern Ecuador. Ripipteryx pasochoensis sp. nov. is distinguished from congeners by the morphology of the male terminalia, particularly the structure of the subgenital plate. Based on colouration, modification of the subgenital plate and structure of the phallic complex, the new species is assigned to the Forceps Group and appears most closely related to Ripipteryx processata Günther. Keys to the species groups of Ripipteryx and to the species of the Forceps Group are provided, and a preliminary subgeneric classification appended.

A new species, Coladenia simianensis sp. nov., is reported from Simian Mountain of Chongqing, China. Judging from the male genitalia, this new species resembles C. tanya Devyatkin, 2002, C. uemurai Huang, 2003 and C. motuoa Huang & Li, 2006, but can be distinguished from them by the following combination of characters: forewing discal spots are narrow and clearly separated; distal and dorsal branches of the valva are very long and strongly curved. A checklist of the species and subspecies of the genus Coladenia is provided, and some questionable distribution records in literature are corrected.

A new species of Passiflora is described from reforested post bauxite-mined area in the National Forest of Saracá- Taquera in the Brazilian state of Pará. The species is illustrated and its affinities with related species are discussed, and a key to the species of supersection Laurifoliae, series Quadrangulares is presented. The series Quadrangulares is composed of four species that constitute a small complex of large-flowered and large-fruited passionflowers with 3–4- angulate-winged stems that occurs naturally in the moist lowlands from Nicaragua to Brazil and French Guiana. However, among the four species of the series, Passiflora trialata is closely related to the new species by the 3-angular stems, the color and shape of sepals and petals, the 3-angular petioles and peduncles, and the single operculum.
