Abstract A new classification of the subtribe Maxillariinae (Orchidaceae) is proposed. Thirty-seven genera are revised. The Camaridium group is divided into seven genera, Adamanthus, Camaridium, Pseudomaxillaria, Psittacoglossum and three described here: Chaseopsis, Chelyella and Viracocha. Ornithidium s.l. is divided into seven genera: Heterotaxis, Laricorchis,Neo-urbania, Nitidobulbon, Ornithidium, Vazquezella and Aucellia, the latter two described here. 193 new combinations on the species level are validated and the relationships among the genera are briefly discussed. A key to the determination of all genera representing Maxillariinae s. s. is provided.

On the basis of the known fact that all air gap main flux density variations are enclosed by permeance slot harmonics, only one component of stray losses in rotor (stator) iron is considered in the new classification, instead of 2 components: rotor (stator) pulsation iron losses, and rotor (stator) surface iron losses. No-load rotor cage (high-frequency) stray losses are usually calculated. No-load stray losses are caused by the existence of space harmonics: the air-gap slot permeance harmonics and the harmonics produced by no-load MMF harmonics. The second result is the proof that the corresponding components of stray losses can be calculated separately for the mentioned kind of harmonics. Determination of the depth of flux penetration and calculations of high frequency iron losses are improved. On the basis of experimental validation, it is proved that the new classification of no-load stray losses and the proposed method for the calculation of the total value is sufficiently accurate.

A new classification for subtribe Pterostylidinae (Orchidaceae) is formally described in which there is one genus, Pterostylis R.Br., two subgenera and 10 sections. Five new combinations are made for this classification at the ranks of subgenus and section, viz. Pt. subg. Oligochaetochilus (Szlach.) Janes & Duretto, Pt. sect. Parviflorae (Benth.) Janes & Duretto, Pt. sect. Pharochilum (D.L.Jones & M.A.Clem.) Janes & Duretto, Pt. sect. Stamnorchis (D.L.Jones & M.A.Clem.) Janes & Duretto and Pt. sect. Urochilus (D.L.Jones & M.A.Clem.) Janes & Duretto. Pt. ser. Parviflorae Benth. is lectotypified. To complete the revision, seven new species-level combinations are made for two species from Western Australia, one from New South Wales and four from Queensland, viz. Pt. anaclasta (D.L.Jones) Janes & Duretto, Pt. extranea (D.L.Jones) Janes & Duretto, Pt. pearsonii (D.L.Jones) Janes & Duretto, Pt. pedina (D.L.Jones) Janes & Duretto, Pt. sinuata (D.L.Jones) Janes & Duretto, Pt. timothyi (D.L.Jones) Janes & Duretto and Pt. thulia (D.L.Jones) Janes & Duretto.

The genus Anthosphaera Kamptner emend. Kleijne is one of the most taxonomically confusing modern coccolithophores and its species level taxonomy has long been in a state of flux. Based on the review of imaged specimens from our collections, we attempt to rectify the nomenclatural problems and elucidate the obfuscated taxonomy of the genus. Review of included formally and informally described species shows that they are a distinctive group with shared characters, including ten different morphotypes of probable species level. Two of these, including the type species A. fragaria, have been shown to form life-cycle associations with heterococcoliths of the Syracosphaera molischii type. Hence, all species are transferred to Syracosphaera and the new combinations S. periperforata, S. lafourcadii, and S. origami are proposed. 129 currently accepted names (all continental American Calyptranthes, but six also occurring in the Caribbean) are here transferred to Myrcia, a required step towards a new classification of the Myrcia s.l. group supported by molecular phylogenetic and morphological studies. Geographical distribution is indicated for each species.

In this study, based on the data through related literature and visual data, three different kinds of Ceramic Techniques of Seljuq’s and their historical developments are examined. Determination of “independent invention” which is often repeated in literature regarding “Enameled ware” (overglaze polychrome-painted ware) and “Underglaze-paint” ornamentation techniques studied through a different viewpoint was examined and correctness of aspects that may rise are argued. In this study where “Underglaze-paint” technique, “Enameled wares” and “Seljuk Whitewares” are used as research objects; it aims to enlighten primarily the formation of the product by mentioned techniques and its historical development. For this aim, relevant techniques are put into the general frame of Islamic Art and examined in such a form that provides a holistic perspective. Later on the study, measurement of the artistic value of solid production and criteria in this measurement are problematized. Accordingly, findings gained through new assessment techniques regarding the evaluation of historical productions are applied to Seljuk ceramic techniques -which is the object of the research- and new classification elements and titles are proposed. A new classification of the subtribe Lychnophorinae is proposed based on the results of phylogenetic analyses. The subtribes Centratherinae and Sipolisiinae are synonyms of Lychnophorinae and three genera (Albertinia, Blanchetia, Gorceixia) are transferred to the subtribe. As now circumscribed, Lychnophorinae comprises 19 genera and 117 species distributed mostly in the Cerrado domain of the Brazilian Central Plateau. Oiospermum is synonymized under Centratherum, and Irwinia under Blanchetia. Because Lychnophora as currently circumscribed is paraphyletic, the genus is dismantled into three monophyletic genera: Lychnophora s.s., Lychnocephalus and a new genus described herein, Lychnophorella. Seven new species are described (Chronopappus lanatus, Lychnophora grisea, L. haplopappa, Lychnophorella jacobinensis, Piptolepis riparia, Prestelia espeletoidea and Proteopsis hermogenesii), 16 new combinations are proposed (Eremanthus reticulatus, E. syncephalus, Lychnocephalus humillimus, L. mellobarretoi, L. sellowii, Lychnophora hatschbachii, Lychnophorella blanchetii, L. bishopii, L. leucodendron, L. morii, L. regis, L. santosii, L. sericea, L. triflora, Piptolepis pabstii, Prestelia purpurascens) as well as eight new synonyms. We also propose a neotype for Ampherephis pulchella, an epitype for Crantzia ovata and lectotypes for 31 names including six second-step lectotypifications (Albertinia brasiliensis, A. polycephala, Ampherephis intermedia, Centratherum fruticosum, Eremanthus leucodendron, E. purpurascens, Gorceixia decurrens, Lychnophora albertinioides, L. brunioides, L. microphylla, L. pohlii, L. reticulata, L. rosmarinus var. affinis, L. rosmarinus var. normalis, L. sellowii, Piptolepis gardneri, Proteopsis sellowii, Symblomeria baldwiniana, Vanillosmopsis albertinioides, V. glomerata, V. pohlii, V. syncephala, Vernonia burchelliana, V. ericoides, V. imbricata, V. involucrata, V. leptospermoides, V. martiana, V. platycephala, V. pseudomyrtus and V. trichocarpha).

Recently, Villastrigo et al. (2017b) published a new classification of the species of the tribe Hygrotini (subfamily Hydroporinae) based on a thorough phylogenetic investigation using molecular as well as morphological data (Villastrigo et al. 2017a).
