The present study is part of a research about computational thinking and tangible robotics. A robot in development in Portugal, MI-GO robot, is part of the basis of this research. The objective is to determine the attitude of young students concerning tangible robots and to observe in what measure they contribute to the development of their STEM skills. On the other hand, it also aims to know what are the opinions of educators, teachers, and researchers concerning MI-GO's characteristics and what is their value, adequacy and suitability for the educational grades of young learners (from 5 to 10). The study consists on a qualitative approach based in a case study methodology, using the techniques of questionnaire and observation. At first the data reveal a clear adhesion to the robot and tangible programming by learners, and the researchers that analyzed the device consider it was a very adequate one and presented several suggestions to improve it.

Sectors or industries characterized by limited or no use of technology to innovate are called lowtechnology (LT) sectors. They are usually dominated by small firms. Identifying a dearth of academicand practitioner work, this paper helps explain how institutions within a small-firm sector and interactions of these firms with institutions influence the occurrence or non-occurrence of LT innovation. Marble sector firms primarily located in north-west Pakistan have been selected for this purpose. Advocating the need for critical realism that has been an often ignored paradigm in management research, this paper offers a unique perspective on the paradigm's fundamental tenets which are events, objects, mechanisms and causal powers through an extensive and robustqualitative analysis using case study methodology. Findings reveal strong normative and cognitive institutions but weak regulative institutions with varying levels of consistencies or otherwise in terms of small firms' interactions with these institutions. Interestingly, cognitive institutions emerge as the main barrier to LT innovation which is a key contribution of this paper along with a hard tofind critical realist perspective. Keywords: Low-technology innovation, LT innovation, institutions, interactions, critical realism

The article presents a Digital Competence analysis of two pre-teens belonging to unfavourable socio-cultural contexts in the last course of Primary Education. Based on a case study methodology, with multiple techniques and informants, the process of appropriation of Digital Competence and the role of the educational agents in its development is inquired, taking as reference their PLN –Personal Network Learning. The results show two very distinct contexts: one with numerous digital devices that allow access to myriad resources and another with limited availability of these artifacts. However, both cases converge in that several dimensions of the Digital Competence analyzed are poorly developed, with the influence of educational agents, especially those that are present at home. We found key reason because the school have many difficulties and obstacles to compensate their development as citizens of the 21st century.

The purpose of this research is to assess the compliance of the selling procedures for unredeemed pawn goods (Marhun) in accordance to the National Sharia Council’s Fatwa No:25/DSN-MUI/III/2002 in Bank Jatim Syariah. The selling of unredeemed pawn goods (marhun) is analyzed from 4 aspects : (1) Maturity, (2) the execution of sale, (3) the result of the sale and (4) the excess or deficit from the result of the sale. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study methodology. The result of this research suggests that there is incompliance to the National Sharia Council’s Fatwa No:25/DSN-MUI/III/2002 in the act of selling unredeemed pawn goods (marhun) by Bank Jatim Syariah, however this incompliance does not indicate any breach to the sharia rulings on sales and purchase.

This research was conducted during the second COVID-19 lockdown in British Columbia, Canada. Its aim was to reveal the opportunities that emerged for gastronomic experience providers which enabled them to build economic, social and or environmental resilience during the pandemic. Using an interpretative, qualitative approach and case study methodology, data was gathered through semi-structured interviews. Nineteen responses were collected and reflected the following key findings: First, technology was a primary tool used in paving the way for strategic and operational changes. Second, expansion into retail as a revenue diversification tool is key to creating sustained economic growth. Finally, the sense of community is at an all-time peak as shown by collaborative spirit, customer loyalty and philanthropic initiatives across the sector. The findings also suggest a post-pandemic gastronomic scene in British Columbia that is heavily supported by domestic palates, a diversified offering, and pandemic-proof experiences.

Abstract The main aim of the paper is to present the synthesis of the results of methodological analysis conducted on examples of foresight projects executed in chosen companies representing four companies type: small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), nonprofit- organization, international corporations and consulting companies as well as to posit functional approach for the implementation of foresight research within organizations. The empirical part of the study is based on the qualitative approach. A multiple case study methodology is employed. The research objects are sixteen companies experienced in foresight research. The first part of the paper gives an overview of definitions of corporate foresight and the analysis of background that have influence on the conducting of foresight in large multinational companies on one side and SMEs on the other side. In the field of the theory of foresight research, the study demonstrates that there are different motivations for foresight introduction as well as different organizational structure of teams conducting the activities and the approaches that they use. In the practical perspective, the study and a detailed functional foresight approach proposed by authors could be valuable for SMEs who consider implementing foresight research into their strategic planning processes.
