Abstract In simulating the three dimensional packing process with arbitrary shaped objects, the task of detecting interference between objects is important and very difficult. This paper, representing the three dimensional packing space and objects with an octree, presents an effective interference detection algorithm, which can overcome the performance shortcomings that the conventional methods have in terms of real-time response, computer memory and computational accuracy. By recording the distribution status of packing space in the “bits” of short integers, the data space can be compressed to 1/16 of that used by conventional algorithms.

The use of computers to improve the productivity of U.S. shipyards has never been as successful as hoped for by the designers. Many applications were simply the conversion of an existing process to a computerized process. The manufacturing database required for the successful application of computer-aided process planning (CAPP) to the shipyard environment requires a "back-to-basics" approach, one that can lead to control of the processes occurring in the fabrication and assembly shops of a shipyard. The manufacturing database will not provide management feedback designed for the financial segment of the shipyard (although it can be converted to be fully applicable): it provides "real-time" manufacturing data that the shop floor manager can utilize in his day-to-day decisions, not historical data on how his shop did last week or last month. The computer is only a tool to be used to organize the mountains of manufacturing data into useful information for today's shop manager on a "real time" basis. The use of group technology to collect similar products, the use of parameters to clearly identify work content, the use of real-time efficiency rates to project capacity and realistic schedules, and the use of bar codes to input "real time" data are all tools that are part of the process—tools for the shop floor manager of tomorrow.

Physiotherapy is the trending medication for curing bone-related injuries and pain. In many cases, due to sudden jerks or accidents, the patient might suffer from severe pain. Therefore, it is the miracle medication for curing patients. The aim here is to build a framework using artificial intelligence and machine learning for providing patients with a digitalized system for physiotherapy. Even though various computer-aided assessment of physiotherapy rehabilitation exist, recent approaches for computer-aided monitoring and performance lack versatility and robustness. In the authors' approach is to come up with proposition of an application which will record patient physiotherapy exercises and also provide personalized advice based on user performance for refinement of therapy. By using OpenPose Library, the system will detect angle between the joints, and depending upon the range of motion, it will guide patients in accomplishing physiotherapy at home. It will also suggest to patients different physio-exercises. With the help of OpenPose, it is possible to render patient images or real-time video.
