Abstract Selective adjustment of the properties of particular material agglomeration has its inherent place in the chemical, food, but especially in the pharmaceutical, industry. The requirement to produce an agglomerate with desired particle size at a given strength is often formulated. To create the targeted product, it is necessary to know the process parameters affecting the preparation of its features. This paper deals with survey distribution characteristics and compressibility changes of an agglomerate in dependence on the duration of the granulation process through the usage of the most modern devices working with particulate materials. The investigated product will be prepared for coating granulating disc designed at the Institute of Process Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

The article concludes with a thorough evaluation of an usefulness of suspension systems and chassis of Mars Rovers from Bialystok University of Technology and predictions for future Mars rover solutions. A development of technology and ever growing aspirations of mankind resulted in clear progress in the field of Mars exploration rovers. Competitions, involving analogs of Mars rovers, are increasingly more popular among academic societies. The main goal of mentioned initiatives, is to test possible solutions which, over time, may be used in rovers during extraterrestrial missions. The authors focused on a path of a Mars rover analogue development. In the first stage authors analyzed requirements of the University Rover Challenge organized by The Mars Society. Then the article concerns tasks that every modern Mars rover faces during its mission. Next authors considered Mars Rovers analogs designed and built in Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Bialystok University of Technology. After application’s considerations, authors focused on suspension systems analysis. A major part of the article is a thorough structural analysis of suspension and driving systems of analog Mars rovers build at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Bialystok University of Technology [1]. Then there is an comparison of the Curiosity (fig. 1) rover suspension [2] and internal frame with #next Mars Rover.

The paper deals with the design and review of curriculum of a formal study program employing the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology that can take into account of the requirements of various stakeholders such as, academics, students, sponsors, employers, and accreditation agencies. Starting with a simple model for teaching and learning, in which curriculum is one of the basic elements, the paper describes curriculum review procedure employing the QFD planning tool known as House of Quality. Then, it presents a case study on the review of mechanical engineering program of the PNG University of Technology.

Był inicjatorem utworzenia w 1954 r. i współredaktorem kwartalnika Archiwum Budowy Maszyn (obecnie: Archive of Mechanical Engineering).

The development of informatics and sensor techniques has extended the possibilities of flight parameter measurement. It allows for extensive modification of control and navigation systems in air vehicles. This advance can also be noticed in the research of the Department of Avionics and Control at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, Rzeszow University of Technology. Research in the area of digital flight control systems was initiated at the Department of Avionics and Control over twenty years ago.

Abstract An engineering education experience for a 1st year mechanical engineering seminar using real world products is described. The seminar contains product dissection, report writing, and oral presentations. The objectives are to observe the real engineering world and to provide engineering experience for 1st year students. The product dissection items consist of a hand drill, hand cleaners, coffee maker, single-use camera, hedge trimmer, electric drill, and sheet finishing sander, some of which were obtained from the US and Japanese markets. It provides a comparison of consumer requirements in the US and Japanese markets as well as some technical aspects. The seminar was 1997 and 1998 at the Kochi University of Technology, which was opened in April, 1997. The seminar seemed successful because 1st year students were able to experience a first look at real world technology, although some modification will be needed for future sessions.
