The article presents an account of the author’s research path, following subsequent stages of the relationships formed between the author and the Gypsy-Roma people from the Chaładytka Roma group and the Polska Roma group. The description focuses on overcoming barriers of strangeness and cultural difference, and discusses different phasesof rapport-building and developing mutual trust, along with their impact on the author’s access to various family and social situations. The author reflects on the characteristics that regulate the functioning of the group, its internal rules and hierarchies, as well as attitudes towards other Gypsies-Roma people. The article highlights some changes in the life of Gypsy-Roma people in Poland following forced settlement and transition to a settled lifestyle.

The article is dedicated to the problem of providing an opportune psychological aid to children who were affected by crisis events. Observation, surveys, conservation were used as the methods of the study. The article emphasizes that the rapport building with children and their parents is one of the first and basic steps to provide psychological help. In order to develop the effective psychological methods and techniques of working with children who were affected by crisis events, scientific works of Ukrainian and foreign scientists were analysed. Therefore, the positive regard, emergence of interest and topic of conservation were determined as essential aspects of any rapport establishing. As well as, the main goals of the rapport building are the abatement of emotional tension and mutual trust development. As a consequence of the study, two stages of the child-psychologist interaction were determined. The first is providing the sense of safety and the second is direct interaction with a child. Also, some rapport building techniques for children of different ages were proposed in the article. These techniques should be used only individually for each specific case. In addition, the rapport building is determined as an inalienable condition of any effective further treatment.

This study aims to examine the impact of organizational cultural difference and mutual trust on the contract management of nonequity project alliances in the construction industry. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect the quantitative data for this study. The relationships between the variables were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. It was found that the contractual complexity of nonequity project alliances was impacted by the differences in management style, differences in organizational responsiveness, mutual goodwill trust, and mutual competence trust. It was also found that the relationship between differences in organizational responsiveness and contractual complexity was moderated by mutual goodwill trust. The research may provide theoretical basis for the management when making decisions on the selection of project alliance partners and contracts. The findings imply that when the firms seek to form project alliances, they need to recognize the level of organizational cultural differences and then determine the proper contractual complexity of the project alliance. In addition, the establishment of mutual goodwill trust between alliance partners will not only reduce the costs of making contracts but also the costs of implementing the contracts.

AbstractThe development of empathy is directly depended on the possibility of knowing the roles, establishing relationships, feeling emotions in different social situations. The functions of empathy allow an effective communication between teachers and students, strengthening mutual trust by analyzing their actions in the process of discussion. However, all these noted, can be achieved in the process of communication between the speaker and the listener, the teacher and the student. Empathy is characteristic to teachers who are able to think about their friend, not to be selfish. Empathetic teachers can feel what others feel, identify their emotions, help others to solve problems and imagine themselves in someone’s situation. Empathetic teachers try to be in somebody’s coat and realize what students would feel in certain situations. Empathy can be felt all the time and it’s necessary to modern people, because everybody needs to accept himself and to respect others.

 Human behavior is affected by various social cues. Studies have revealed that cues of being watched affect both social and non-social behavior. A subsequent question is whether one’s own image in a mirror has a noticeable effect on behavior and decision-making. Previous studies suggest that people behave in accordance with social desirability in the presence of mirrors; however, the “mirror effect” is still controversial and researchers know little about the mechanism. To further investigate this effect, the current study examined whether mirrors influence impulsivity, a feature that is closely related to decision-making in both social and non-social situations. Participants completed a delay-discounting task in a mirror condition and a no-mirror control condition. We found that relative to the control condition, participant impulsivity increased in the mirror condition. This outcome may have been triggered when the participants’ private self-awareness, contrary to public self-awareness, was activated by the mirrors. Thus, mirror-induced self-awareness might have influenced decision-making as a non-social cue in our experiment. Considering the inconsistent results among previous and present studies, the mirror effect might be influenced by the cultural difference or experimental setting. Further investigation is needed to identify how people change their behavior and which aspects of self-awareness are influenced by mirrors.
