The rapid development of informatics technology (IT) in healthcare in the digital era has not been in line with the development of industrial nursing informatics education in Indonesia. The discrepancy is disturbing the operational activities of nursing clinicians who stand between the need of client, business, and the quality of services. The objective is to explore the benefit to the largest components of education that have changed due to IT interventions. This research used the Case Study method. The instrument was a case management version of the American Board of Occupational Health Nursing (ABOHN). The purposive sampling population was 350 nurses and nursing students who filled a questionnaire based on the Likert Scale, focused on the influence of IT on OHN education. The supporting data was from 15 major campuses in Indonesia that have nursing majors and IT departments, also from ABOHN and other OHN international bodies. The data was processed by the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 25 version, in the table of Pearson Correlation. Gamification and Fogg's Behavior models were used to identify the influence of IT on OHN education. The data analysis showed a significant impact of IT on OHN education with a value of 0.782. The Influence of IT towards OHN learning materials based on Gamification and Fogg’s Models also showed of 9 OHN competency categories (100%), indicating the need for IT support was absolute. Case management result projected that the application of Gamification with Fogg's model with the application of IT on the OHN education proved the magnitude influence of IT on 8 components, i.e.: teaching methods, learning materials, learning methods, students’ learning interests, campus facilities, lecturer’s competencies, campus management, and the education curriculum. The IT intervention will simplify the OHN education system, provide more effective, and efficient OH nursing practice in the workplace.

Effectiveness is difficult to define or measure, but is frequently associated with cost. A two phase study conducted with occupational health nurses in Alberta, Canada resulted in a beginning model for effectiveness. In 1997, Phase One of an exploratory descriptive study focused on physical assessment by occupational health nurses ( N = 137) and perceptions of effectiveness in practice ( n = 104). In 2001, Phase Two used focus groups ( n = 7) to determine occupational health nurses' reactions to the preliminary analysis of questionnaire responses on effectiveness. The focus groups confirmed and expanded categories, and reconfigured the developing model. The model makes explicit the foundations, functions, relationships, and goals for effectiveness in occupational health nursing practice. The foundation includes registered nurse (RN) experience and baseline competence comprising occupational health nursing education, RN and occupational health nurse experience, and multidisciplinary knowledge. Ten specific functions and nine relationships describe the occupational health nursing specialty practice and promote achievement of five goals: balance, communication, continuing competence, leadership, and trust. The goal of balance needs articulation in the nursing literature.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Occupational Health Nursing (OHN) is very important to be studied by nursing students considering the industial demands are very high on the importance of the health of workers in the future. The problem is they don't get proportional insights to OHN. This needs evidence of its effect on nurses’ work productivity. Objective: The objective is to compare the level of work productivity between nurses who have the OHN insight with those without it, working in the industrial setting. Method: The method is Comparative Study with Cross Sectional Study Design with nursing students, nurses and Indonesian nurses working abroad as the populations. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling with a total sample of 130 respondents. The data collection tool uses a questionnaire and Likert Scale, compiled based on the Health Belief Model Theory (HBM). The data were analyzed by the Paired Sample T-test to see the differences between nurses who had received OHN subject and those who had never. Result: The results show significant differences on level of understanding between nurses who have received subject material about OHN with those who have never had it, with a p-value of 0,000. Discussion: Significant productivity differences between nurses who have received lecture material about OHN and those who did not, which can be used as criticism or input for nursing education in Indonesia.
