It is the requirements of limited resources and realtime in embedded system. Design of network communication system based on embedded system is hard. In this paper, we propose the architecture of embedded network using Modbus TCP/IP protocol, analyze the composition of Modbus TCP/IP protocol. It is that Modbus protocol information can be made in the TCP/IP protocol of the Internet transmission, and thus extend the application of Modbus protocol. The network communication system is designed and implemented on the ARM platform using non-blanking socket in Linux. The system is available, stable and worthy of popularization.

Embedded devices are confined to be agents although they have been deployed in network management system for decades. We shed light on this situation by designing and implementing a new full-featured embedded network management system. On one hand, this system can still be an agent; on the other hand, this system provides a friendly GUI and I/O devices such as mouse and keyboard, which allows administrators to conveniently monitor and configure the managed equipment. The new system is developed on ARM with Linux using multithreading method, and it is deployed on ROADM equipment in optical network. SNMP is applied to be the network management protocol.

The solution of Ethernet interface based on the core of ATmega128 and its architecture of hardware was illustrated in this paper. The operating system of μC/OS-II was transplanted to the system and the improvement of TCP/IP protocol was implemented. The paper dwelled on the module structure of TCP protocol which based on message and function of μC/OS-II. Finally, the test of systemic performance was presented.
