The paper studies some methods of visualization in socially-humanitarian studies and teaching of socially-humanitarian disciplines. Two methods of visualization in social and humanitarian disciplines are considered. The first trick is based on the involvement of visual documents (photographs, newsreels, etc.). As a second method of visualization, a visual representation of knowledge is considered. Informative examples of knowledge visualization are reported. The first example is concerned with army rearmament. The second and third part is concerned with Second World War.

A concept map (also known as a knowledge map) is a visual representation of knowledge of a domain. A concept map consists of nodes representing concepts, objects, events, or actions connected by directional links defining the semantic relationships between and among nodes. Graphically, a node is represented by a geometric object, such as a rectangle or oval, containing a textual name; relationship links between nodes appear as textually labeled lines with an arrowhead at one or both ends indicating the directionality of the represented relation. Together, nodes and links define propositions or assertions about a topic, domain, or thing. For example, an arrow labeled has beginning at a node labeled bird and ending at a wings node represents the proposition “A bird has wings” and might be a portion of a concept map concerning birds, as portrayed in Figure 1.

AbstractWhen dealing with biological organisms, one has to take into account some peculiarities which significantly affect the representation of knowledge about them. These are complemented by the limitations in the representation of propositional knowledge, i. e. the majority of clinical knowledge, by artificial agents. Thus, the opportunities to automate the management of clinical knowledge are widely restricted to closed contexts and to procedural knowledge. Therefore, in dynamic and complex real-world settings such as health care provision to HIV-infected patients human and artificial agents must collaborate in order to optimize the time/quality antinomy of services provided. If applied to the implementation level, the overall requirement ensues that the language used to model clinical contexts should be both human- and machine-interpretable. The eXtensible Markup Language (XML), which is used to develop an electronic study form, is evaluated against this requirement, and its contribution to collaboration of human and artificial agents in the management of clinical knowledge is analyzed.

From many kind of stories Indonesian comic books recently offered, with the developed visual wrapping, some comics steal attentions by its unique themes. These comic books are created because of the inspiration and relation to music industry. These comic books couldn't be seen from the visual style alone, as they were created in many visual genres, but they could be seen from their relations to music industry, whether the mainstream or indie ones. These comic books are published together with the music CDs, telling fictional stories from factual bands or musicians, telling a band's factual stories, or created by one of the band members. To understand modes of creation of these music industry-related-comic books, visual narrative approach will be applied. Through visual narrative approach, the band members' or musician's necessity for telling stories via comics, beside the common practices via music and song lyrics, will be observed. Keywords : Comic book, music industry, visual narrative
