The aim of the work was to analyze the long-term results of using a temporary “liquid” implant in the surgery of congenital glaucoma in children. The basis of the developed method of filtrative antiglaucomatous surgery (Patent of Ukraine No. 45099 of 2009) – viscosinusotrabeculotomy – has been set the task of reducing the risk of developing intra- and postoperative complications, reducing the scarring rate and maintaining the newly created ways of the intraocular fluid outflow, which in general will increase the effectiveness of surgical treatment of congenital glaucoma in children. 54 children (91 eyes) with simple congenital glaucoma at the age of 1 to 36 months were operated on average (8.7 ± 8.2) months. The persistent and long-lasting hypotensive effect achieved due to viscosinusotrabeculotomy in children with developed and far-advanced stages of congenital glaucoma stops the processes of stretching of the membranes of the eye and stabilizes their size, which in general allows preserving and visual functions improving, in infancy – creating conditions for their formation.

The influence of two methods of forming a conjunctival flap on the hypotensive efficiency of operations and the outflow of intraocular fluid in the long-term follow-up was studied. Operated on 2 groups of patients - 150 people (150 eyes). In group 1 (76 patients), operations were performed with an incision of the conjunctiva at the site of its attachment along the limbus for 5 - 6 mm, followed by its separation by 3 - 4 mm upward.

Purpose. To study the possibilities of a new method of CMRR treatment in the prevention of irreversible blindness. Material and methods. 74 patients with cytomegalovirus retinitis, frolicking after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The first group (9 people, 15 eyes) consisted of children, whose treatment was carried out under ophthalmoscopic control. The second group (65 people, 114 eyes) consisted of children in whom the control of the effectiveness of treatment was carried out using PCR of aqueous humor in real time. Results. In the first group, retinal detachment was diagnosed in three out of fifteen eyes, accounting for 20%. In the second group, the incidence of retinal detachment was 3.5% of 114 eyes. Among patients receiving treatment under ophthalmoscopic control, CMRR relapses were detected in 5 cases, which amounted to 33.3%. In children, whose treatment was controlled by intraocular fluid PCR, relapses were diagnosed in 22 cases, which amounted to 19.29%. Conclusions. Intravitreal administration of antiviral drugs under the control of polymerase chain reaction is a more effective method of treating cytomegalovirus retinitis than intravitreal administration under ophthalmoscopic control. Key words: cytomegalovirus retinitis, intraocular fluid polymerase chain reaction.
