Abstract BELMONT ALLOY 18912 is an aluminum casting alloy containing 0.8% magnesium and relatively high copper and nickel along with its 6.5% tin. The composition makes the alloy suitable for bearing applications requiring operation at relatively high temperatures and with good resistance to thermal stresses. Sand and permanent-mold castings comprise its main use. It is particularly well suited for shock or impact loads. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Al-230. Producer or source: Belmont Metals Inc..
