INDALLOY 281
Abstract INDALLOY 281 is a bismuth-base eutectic alloy; it has a melting temperature of 281 F (138 C). This is the highest melting point of the bismuth alloys commonly used in industry. Indalloy 281 furnishes scientists, engineers and technicians with an easily castable alloy that is ready for use soon after it freezes. It can be recovered easily and recycled many times. Among its many uses are anchoring parts for machining, foundry patterns and liquid seals. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties. It also includes information on casting, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: Bi-29. Producer or source: Indium Corporation of America.
