Abstract Bismuth-28.5Pb-14.5Sn-9Sb is a bismuth-base non-eutectic alloy that melts over the low-temperature range of 218-440 F. Its controlled-shrinkage characteristics and low melting temperature make it a valuable industrial tool. It was developed and used originally for making punching dies to produce transformer laminations from silicon sheet steel.
