The occurrence of Belminus laportei Lent, Jurberg & Carcavallo, 1995 (Hemiptera: Reduviidae: Triatominae) in French Guiana is reported for the first time. A triatomine specimen collected in Bélizon, French Guiana was found to be a female of Belminus laportei, a species known so far only from Pará State, Brazil. The discovery of this species broadens its known geographic distribution and increases the number of triatomines recorded from the French Guiana to fifteen.

The benthic ctenophore Vallicula multiformis Rankin, 1956 is recorded for the first time in the Arabian Sea, from the Gulf of Kutch, west coast of India in March 2013. This occurrence represents a remarkable extension of its geographic distribution that until now included only known the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

We report new records of the White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) in Brazil based on specimens deposited in scientific collections. These new records expand the known geographic distribution of the species in Brazil southwards in the states of Roraima and Amapá, the latter the first record of the species below the equator line in Brazil, and register it for the first time in the state of Amazonas. These records contribute to increase the knowledge of the geographical distribution of O. virginianus in Brazil and highlights the importance of museum collections as a source of biogeographic and ecological data.

The distribution for each species of freshwater leech (Hirudinoidea) is described and discussed on a province or territory basis. The hosts for those species recorded as temporary parasites are listed. One hundred and eight new species records are listed including 28 records new to the province or territory. Percymoorensis lateralis is recorded in Canada for the first time, and the first record of freshwater leeches in the Yukon made.

A red algal species,Polyneura bonnemaisonii(Delesseriaceae, Rhodophyta), is described for the first time in the Atlantic Ocean of Morocco. This is also the first reference of the occurrence of this species in Africa. This species was collected in the lower intertidal to subtidal zones, from Hyayda (north-west of Morocco). The Moroccan specimen is studied in detail and compared with other closely related species. Habitat, geographic distribution, description and illustration of the macroscopic and microscopic characters are presented and discussed in this work.

Helophorus villosus Düftschmid, 1805, known formerly from Central Europe, has been recorded for the first time from Ukraine (Odessa Region). A description of the species and data on its ecology and geographic distribution are given. H. villosus is proposed to be included in the Red Book of Ukraine.

Cavernicola pilosa Barber, 1937 is a wild triatomine species that generally lives in caves but has been found invading dwellings. It feeds mostly on bat blood. This vector has a wide geographical distribution throughout Central and South America, including Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, French Guiana, Panamá, Peru, and Venezuela. In Brazil, C. pilosa occurs in the states of Bahia, Pará, Tocantins, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná, and Maranhão. We report for the first time its presence in Amazonas state, Brazil.

The genus Coeliaria Mulsant, 1850 of the tribe Chnoodini Mulsant, 1850 is recorded for French Guiana for the first time. One new species, Coeliaria monnei Churata & Almeida sp. nov. (holotype male deposited in MNHN: Montagne des Chevaux 04°44’56”N, 52°26’28”W, 75 m, 26.IX.2015, SEAG col.) is described and illustrated. The key published anteriorly is modified to include this new species. Currently, the genus is recorded for Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and French Guiana.

Desmoncus leptoclonos Drude is recorded for the first time for the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Based on this new record, the geographical distribution of Desmoncus Mart. for Brazil is expanded. An identification key to climbing species of Brazilian Desmoncus, a description, a map of geographic distribution, photographs, and comments concerning Desmoncus leptoclonos are provided.

The geographic distribution of Sphaenorhynchus lacteus comprises Amazon and Orinoco basins of South America, Guianas, eastern Brazil and Trinidad. Herein, we report for the first time the occurrence of Sphaenorhynchus lacteus and of the genus for the state of Piauí.

Copiphora longicauda Serville, 1831 is a species of Amazonian katydid described for French Guiana and with records for Colombia, Peru and Suriname. In this contribution, the record of this species is made for the first time to Brazil, with inclusion of natural history and a map with the geographical records.
