Purpose: This clinical case describes a successful use of a non-resorbable membrane and mixture of autogenous particulated bone with anorganic bovine bone-derived mineral (ABBM) in a severe posterior mandible alveolar defect. Case report: A combined vertical and horizontal alveolar ridge augmentation was successfully achieved. Detailed clinical steps were described and demonstrated. The patient was rehabilitated with implant supported fixed partial denture with no pink ceramic. This two-staged procedure provides the amount of horizontal ridge width and vertical height to successfully place in the correct position the implants and achieve long term results. Conclusions: Multicenter, randomised clinical trials are necessary to compare this procedure with other potential clinical solutions.

Immediate implant placement combined with hard and soft tissue grafting has been suggested because it may preclude dramatic postextraction bone loss and may decrease overall discomfort with reduction in the number of surgeries and in treatment time. In this case report, the acellular dermal matrix was used as a membrane for immediate implantation via a bone augmentation procedure in an esthetically challenging situation. The author suggests that this surgical technique provides the clinician with an option for an immediate implant therapy when primary closure is not intended. Additional randomized controlled trials conducted over long periods are necessary to establish whether this procedure offers long-term benefit to patients.

Orbital roof fractures associated with cranial and maxillofacial trauma are rarely encountered. Traumatic intraorbital encephaloceles due to orbital roof fractures developing in the early posttraumatic period are even rarer. A variety of materials, such as alloplastic implants or autogenous materials, have been used for the reconstruction of orbital roof, but data regarding the long-term results of these materials are very limited. We report a case of intraorbital encephalocele developing in the early posttraumatic period (2 days) in a child patient and the long-term results of titanium mesh used for the reconstruction of the orbital roof. The case is presented with a pertinent review of literature.

AbstractRehabilitation of patients with deficient Seibert's Class-III ridge mandibular ridge is always a challenge for a dentist. This article discusses the problems faced while rehabilitating such cases and also discusses the surgical and prosthetic management of one such case. A ridge augmentation procedure called as “Roll on Technique” was used to correct the contour of the ride. Fixed partial denture with altered framework design and tissue colored porcelain was used to complete the case. These simple but effective changes helped to give predictable esthetics with illusion of natural teeth.

This case report details a 65-year-old male patient who underwent mandibular resection and radiotherapy as treatment for squamous cell carcinoma of the right mandible. The patient was rehabilitated with an implant-supported fixed partial denture and a maxillary occlusal ramp. The patient has been wearing his prosthesis for 2 years with no complaints.
