Aneurysmal bone cyst(ABC) is a benign bone tumor.: Background:It is mainly repoted in the long bones but only rare cases in calcaneum have been reported. As per reports only 1% of this type of tumour is found in the calcaneum Material and Methods: I am going to report an unusual case series of ABC in calcaneum in 8 cases in last 7 years of which in male patients of young adults were predominant. All patients throughly investigated as per protocol set in study and treated accordingly with biopsy and through currattage and bone grafting uniformly. Results:All patients was achieved proper diagnosis and good clinical results. Conclusion:This article discusses regarding rare presentation of 8 cases of anurysmal bone cyst of calcaneum in the study period of 7 years with the etiology clinicapresentation, radiological features, histological features and preferred examinations with treatment done with results.

Abstract Background Aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs), were first described by Drs. Jaffe and Lichenstein in 1942 when they described pelvic and spine lesions that when exposing the lesion and opening in to its thin wall, the surgeon was immediately confronted by a large hole containing much fluid blood. Aim of the Work To describe the efficacy of new line treatment modalities of (Aneurysmal Bone Cysts) compared to conventional lines of management regarding the: • Long term outcomes and healing rate. • Recurrence rates. • Complications after therapy. Patients and Methods Criteria for considering studies for this review: • Types of the studies: published observational analytical studies (case-control_ case-series _ RCT or cohort studies) which studied the efficiency of new lines in the management of aneurysmal bone cyst. • Types of participants: participants were children and young age (below the age of 50 yrs) with a diagnosis of aneurysmal bone cyst. • Types of interventions: drugs like (Bisphosphonate or denosumab) were administered for a time determined by the case improvement, or minimally invasive techniques like (cryosurgery or curopsy) was done. Results Through the results of our study that compared between these recent modalities according to healing, recurrence, and complications rate; we are able to say that recent strategies have a high rate of healing ranges from 78.57% with bisphosphonate to 100% with doxycycline and cryotherapy. Conclusion There are recent evolving trends in the management of ABC other than the classic ways of management, they are less invasive, have less recurrence rate reaches to 0 % like with bisphosphonate, less complications rate as well reaches to 0 % like with doxycycline and bisphosphonate, high healing rate reaches to 100 % like with doxycycline and taking in consideration how to handle cases of ABC that classic way of management can’t handle like spinal ABC.

ABSTRACT An aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign osteolytic bony lesion that commonly affects the long bones with rare presentation in the jaws. The etiopathogenesis of ABC is unsure. Several theories have been suggested like trauma, intramedullary hematoma, alterations in local hemodynamics, reactive malformation, and genetic predisposition. Though ABCs are considered as secondary phenomenon in preexisting benign and malignant bony lesions, intermittent reports of ABCs with primary/denovo origin are generating perplexity in the scenario. Here, we describe a rare case of giant ABC involving mandible extending from right angle of mandible to left canine region which crosses midline, in a 10-year-old female patient, without any evidence of preexisting bony lesion. Adamantinoma, a rare bone lesion of the tibia and fibula, has two distinct variants, classic adamantinoma and osteofibrous dysplasia-like adamantinoma. Composite lesions have not been described. Aneurysmal bone cyst is a benign cystic lesion which may also occur in the tibia and fibula. We report an unusual case of classic adamantinoma with osteofibrous dysplasia-like areas and foci of secondary aneurysmal bone cyst with prominent giant cells. A lesion was diagnosed in a 17-year-old girl with a 14-year history of a slowly enlarging left tibial mass and increasing deformity. Pathologically, the predominant pattern was classic adamantinoma, with minor foci of osteofibrous dysplasia-like adamantinoma and areas of secondary aneurysmal bone cyst with abundant multinucleated giant cells. We report the clinical, radiologic, and pathologic features of this case, and summarize lesions associated with secondary aneurysmal bone cyst. To our knowledge, the association of adamantinoma with secondary aneurysmal bone cyst has not been previously reported.
