We establish the existence of positive solutions of somem-point boundary value problems under weaker assumptions than previously employed. In particular, we do not require all the parameters occurring in the boundary conditions to be positive. Our results allow more general behaviour for the nonlinear term than being either sub- or superlinear.

AbstractIn the paper, Guo–Krasnoselskii’s fixed point theorem is adapted to study the existence of positive solutions to a class of boundary value problems for higher order differential equations with delay. The sufficient conditions, which assure that the equation has one positive solution or two positive solutions, are derived. These conclusions generalize some existing ones.

A new fixed point theorem on cones is applied to obtain the existence of at least two positive solutions of a higher-order three-point boundary value problem for the differential equation subject to a class ofboundary value conditions. The associated Green's function is given. Some results obtained recently are generalized.
