The Dioclea clade comprises four genera and aproximately 60 species of the tribe Diocleae: Cleobulia (4 species), Cymbosema (1), Dioclea (ca. 50), Luzonia (1) and Macropsychanthus (3–4). Dioclea has been demonstrated to be a non-monophyletic genus, but low sampling in previous phylogenetic studies hampered the adoption of new taxonomic arrangements. We carried out densely sampled phylogenetic analyses of the Dioclea clade using molecular markers that had performed well in previous studies: the ITS and ETS nuclear ribosomal regions and the plastid trnK/matK. Our results support the maintenance of the genera Cleobulia and Cymbosema with their current circumscriptions, but confirmed the polyphyly of Dioclea, with its species falling into three different positions: (1) the puzzling species, Dioclea paniculata, was highly supported as a member of the Galactia clade; (2) Dioclea subg. Dioclea appeared as sister to a clade composed of Cleobulia and Cymbosema; and (3) the species of Dioclea subgenera Pachylobium and Platylobium composed a paraphyletic grade nesting the genera Luzonia and Macropsychanthus. We thus propose that the circumscription of Dioclea should be restricted to Dioclea subg. Dioclea, with 13 species and that the limits of Macropsychanthus should be widened to include the genus Luzonia, as well as the Dioclea subgenera Pachylobium and Platylobium, with 46 species. Taxonomic summaries, new combinations and synonyms are presented for all genera of the Dioclea clade. Cleobulia and Cymbosema were retained in their original circumscriptions. We presented an illustrated taxonomic conspectus of all genera of the Dioclea clade including 44 new combinations, one new name, ten new synonyms, two re-established holotypes, 38 lectotypes, two epitypes and one neotype.

AbstractAfrotropical bark beetle genera in the tribe Micracidini are revised and an identification key provided. The new classification is based on phylogenetic analyses of five molecular markers (COI, EF-1α, 28S, PABP1, CAD) in combination with morphological characters. Five new genera are erected and one genus synonymized, resulting in a total of 11 valid genera: Lanurgus Eggers, 1920, Traglostus Schedl, 1938, Pseudomicracis Eggers, 1920 (=Saurotocis Wood, 1984 syn. nov.), Phloeocurus Wood, 1984, Afromicracis Schedl, 1959, Dendrochilus Schedl, 1959, Neomicracis Jordal gen. nov., Leiomicracis Jordal gen. nov., Diplotrichus Jordal gen. nov., Pseudolanurgus Jordal gen. nov., Microlanurgus Jordal gen. nov. The following new species are described to be included in the new genera: Leiomicracis aurea Jordal sp. nov., Neomicracis squamigera Jordal sp. nov., both from Tanzania, and Microlanurgus bicolor Jordal sp. nov. and Microlanurgus ater Jordal sp. nov., from Madagascar. (both from Dendrochilus); Eidophelus agnathus (Schedl, 1942) comb. nov., and Eidophelus ciliatipennis (Schedl, 1979) comb. nov. (all from Miocryphalus). The following five species were included in Karlseniusgen. nov. (Trypophloeini): Karlsenius klainedoxae (Schedl, 1957) comb. nov., Karlsenius nitidum (Schedl, 1965) comb. nov., Karlsenius nigrinum (Schedl, 1957) comb. nov., and Karlsenius attenuatus (Eggers, 1935) comb. nov. (from Miocryphalus), and Karlsenius ghanaensis (Schedl, 1977) comb. nov. (from Eidophelus). A time-tree and biogeographical analysis suggested that Madagascar was colonized only once in Micracidini, from East Africa soon after the origin of the tribe in late Cretaceous. Multiple re-colonisations from Madagascar to the mainland have contributed to further diversification of a tribe which is otherwise highly restricted in geographical distribution.

The misapplication of the name Tectaria griffithii is corrected, which results in the revival of T. multicaudata and the proposal of a new combination (T. multicaudata var. amplissima) and two new synonyms (T. yunnanensis and T. multicaudata var. singaporeana). For the reduction of Psomiocarpa and Tectaridium (previously monotypic genera) into Tectaria, T. macleanii (new combination) and T. psomiocarpa (new name) are proposed as new combinations. In addition, the new name Tectaria subvariolosa is put forward to replace a later homonym (T. stenosemioides).

The classification of the genera belonging to the doryctine tribe Rhaconotini (Braconidae) is updated. The following new taxa are described: Troporhaconotus gen. nov. (with 12 species), Afroipodoryctes subgen. nov. (of Ipodoryctes Granger, 1949) (with three species), Hexarhaconotinus subgen. nov. (of Rhaconotinus Hedqvist, 1965) (with ten species), Bathycentor zimbabwensis sp. nov., Ipodoryctes (Afroipodoryctes) reunionus sp. nov., I. (A.) saintphilippensis sp. nov., Platyspathius (Platyspathius) venezuelicus sp. nov., P. (P.) ranomafanus sp. nov., Rhacontsira haeselbarthi sp. nov., Rh. mozambiquensis sp. nov., Rh. saigonensis sp. nov. and Rh. toamasina sp. nov. The generic status of Euryphrymnus Cameron, 1910 is resurrected. The generic name Aptenobracon Marsh, 1965 is synonymised under Rhaconotus Ruthe, 1854 (syn. nov.); Rhaconotus asiaticus Belokobylskij, 1990 is synonymised under Rh. kerzhneri Belokobylskij, 1985 (syn. nov.). The new name, Rhaconotinus austrochinensis nom. nov., is suggested for the preoccupied name Rhaconotus chinensis Chen & Shi, 2004 (December) not Rhaconotus chinensis Belokobylskij & Chen, 2004 (June). New species contents, in many cases with numerous new combinations, are suggested for the genera Bathycentor Saussure, 1892, Euryphrymnus Cameron, 1910, Ipodoryctes Granger, 1949, Rhaconotinus Hedqvist, 1965 and Rhaconotus. The tribe Leptorhaconotini is synonymised with Rhaconotini based on previously published molecular phylogenetic studies, though we leave this group within the subtribe Leptorhaconotina.

Based on the latest phylogenetic analyses of the subtribe in which species of Basiphyllaea and Hexalectris were embedded among the species of Bletia, twelve new combinations and a new name are proposed in the last.

A worldwide checklist is provided for the family Endomychidae (Coleoptera: Cucujoidea). An updated subfamilial classification is presented, based on recent higher-level phylogenetic analyses and incorporating many recently described taxa. At present, Endomychidae contains 1782 valid species and subspecies in 130 genera organized into 12 subfamilies. Two new synonyms are recognized: Symbiotes latus Redtenbacher, 1849 = Symbiotes latus var. roberti Falcoz & Roman, 1930 syn. nov.; and Cholovocerida Belon, 1884 = Displotera Reitter, 1887b syn. nov. Two new combinations are proposed: Cholovocerida ecitonis (Wasmann, 1890) for Coluocera ecitonis Wasmann, 1890 comb. nov.; and Cholovocerida maderae (Wollaston, 1854) for Cholovocera maderae Wollaston, 1854 comb. nov. Loeblia ceylanica Dajoz, 1972a is here designated as the type species for Loeblia Dajoz, 1972a, and Rhymbus hemisphaericus Gerstaecker, 1858 is designated as the type species for Rhymbus Gerstaecker, 1858. Nomen nudum status is proposed for Mycetaea tafilaletica Smirnoff, 1957. Thirty-two species originally described under Corynomalus Chevrolat, 1836 and subsequently transferred to Amphix Laporte, 1840, have been returned to Corynomalus. Known fossil taxa are summarized.

Recently, molecular phylogenetic studies have revolutionized the generic concepts in Parmeliaceae and in lichen forming fungi in general. In the present study, the generic delimitation in the Hypotrachyna clade is revised using a molecular phylogeny of nuclear ITS, LSU and mitochondrial SSU rDNA sequences of 88 hypotrachynoid taxa. Morphological and chemical features are also revised in each group. 118 sequences are newly generated for this study. Our phylogenetic analyses show the polyphyly of Hypotrachyna as currently circumscribed which falls into four well-supported and one unsupported clade. Cetrariastrum, Everniastrum and Parmelinopsis are nested within Hypotrachyna s. lat., Parmelinopsis being also polyphyletic and nested in one of the Hypotrachyna clades. Cetrariastrum is monophyletic but clustered within Everniastrum. Two alternative hypotheses tests significantly rejected the monophyly of these three genera. As a consequence, the genera Cetrariastrum, Everniastrum, and Parmelinopsis are reduced to synonymy with Hypotrachyna. Furthermore, we here propose an alternative classification to recognize the well-supported clades at subgeneric level and leave the remaining species unclassified within the genus. Five new subgenera are proposed: Hypotrachyna subgen. Cetrariastrum, Hypotrachyna subgen. Everniastrum, Hypotrachyna subgen. Longilobae, Hypotrachyna subgen. Parmelinopsis, and Hypotrachyna subgen. Sinuosae. Forty-nine new combinations are proposed.

The taxonomic positions of 284 names on the genus Megachile (sensu Michener et al. 1994) of the Americas are clarified. A total of 166 types (164 holotypes and 2 cotypes) were examined. In 24 cases specimens determined by specialists were used and in 17 the published descriptions were analysed. The subgenera of 175 species are indicated for the first time and 94 are nomenclatural changes. Four lectotypes are designated. There are 11 new synonyms: brasiliensis Dalla Torre 1896 (= nigridorsis Vachal 1908 = brancoensis Mitchell 1930), eburneipes Vachal 1904 (= bernardina Schrottky 1913), fiebrigi Schrottky 1908 (= tergina Vachal 1908), guaranitica Schrottky 1908 (= marcida Vachal 1908), maura Cresson 1865 (= carlotensis Mitchell 1927), nigripennis Spinola 1841 (= hypocrita Smith 1853 = totonaca Cresson 1878), nudiventris Smith 1853 (= jurujubensis Cockerell 1927) pedalis Fox 1891 (= liguanensis Cockerell 1912) and poeyi Guérin-Méneville 1845 (= velhoensis Mitchell 1930). One is a change of specific name: moderata Smith 1879 (= mariannae Dalla Torre 1896) and one of subgenus: Moureapis new name (= Moureana Mitchell 1980 = Willinkella Laroca et al 1982 = Acentrina Schlindwein 1995). Two have changed to a new status: poeyi alleni Mitchell 1927 to alleni Mitchell and hoffmanseggiae var. hypoleuca Cockerell 1927 to hypoleuca Cockerell.

As part of the integrative systematic studies on the tribe Maleae, a synopsis of the expanded Rhaphiolepis is presented, recognizing 45 species. Three new forms were validated: R. bengalensis f. contracta B.B.Liu & J.Wen, R. bengalensis f. intermedia B.B.Liu & J.Wen, and R. bengalensis f. multinervata B.B.Liu & J.Wen, and four new combinations are made here: R. bengalensis f. angustifolia (Cardot) B.B.Liu & J.Wen, R. bengalensis f. gigantea (J.E.Vidal) B.B.Liu & J.Wen, R. laoshanica (W.B.Liao, Q.Fan & S.F.Chen) B.B.Liu & J.Wen, and R. latifolia (Hook.f.) B.B.Liu & J.Wen. Furthermore, one new name, Rhaphiolepis yui B.B.Liu & J.Wen is proposed here, and three taxa were reduced as new synonyms. We also provide lectotypification for 13 names: Crataegus bibas, Eriobotrya philippinensis, Mespilus spiralis, Opa integerrima, Photinia luzonensis, Rhaphiolepis brevipetiolata, R. ferruginea var. serrata, R. fragrans, R. gracilis, R. hainanensis, R. kerrii, R. indica subsp. umbellata var. liukiuensis, and R. parvibracteolata.

A new classification of the subtribe Lychnophorinae is proposed based on the results of phylogenetic analyses. The subtribes Centratherinae and Sipolisiinae are synonyms of Lychnophorinae and three genera (Albertinia, Blanchetia, Gorceixia) are transferred to the subtribe. As now circumscribed, Lychnophorinae comprises 19 genera and 117 species distributed mostly in the Cerrado domain of the Brazilian Central Plateau. Oiospermum is synonymized under Centratherum, and Irwinia under Blanchetia. Because Lychnophora as currently circumscribed is paraphyletic, the genus is dismantled into three monophyletic genera: Lychnophora s.s., Lychnocephalus and a new genus described herein, Lychnophorella. Seven new species are described (Chronopappus lanatus, Lychnophora grisea, L. haplopappa, Lychnophorella jacobinensis, Piptolepis riparia, Prestelia espeletoidea and Proteopsis hermogenesii), 16 new combinations are proposed (Eremanthus reticulatus, E. syncephalus, Lychnocephalus humillimus, L. mellobarretoi, L. sellowii, Lychnophora hatschbachii, Lychnophorella blanchetii, L. bishopii, L. leucodendron, L. morii, L. regis, L. santosii, L. sericea, L. triflora, Piptolepis pabstii, Prestelia purpurascens) as well as eight new synonyms. We also propose a neotype for Ampherephis pulchella, an epitype for Crantzia ovata and lectotypes for 31 names including six second-step lectotypifications (Albertinia brasiliensis, A. polycephala, Ampherephis intermedia, Centratherum fruticosum, Eremanthus leucodendron, E. purpurascens, Gorceixia decurrens, Lychnophora albertinioides, L. brunioides, L. microphylla, L. pohlii, L. reticulata, L. rosmarinus var. affinis, L. rosmarinus var. normalis, L. sellowii, Piptolepis gardneri, Proteopsis sellowii, Symblomeria baldwiniana, Vanillosmopsis albertinioides, V. glomerata, V. pohlii, V. syncephala, Vernonia burchelliana, V. ericoides, V. imbricata, V. involucrata, V. leptospermoides, V. martiana, V. platycephala, V. pseudomyrtus and V. trichocarpha).
