Lithobius (Monotarsobius) meifengensissp. n.occurring at Mei-Feng Farm, Highland Experimental Farm of National Taiwan University, Nantou, Taiwan, is characterised by a male secondary sexual character on leg 15, a very large ventral swelling occupying almost 50% of the ventral surface of the femur; the gently curved apical region bearing approximately 20 short setae and numerous very small pores of flexo-canal epidermal glands. This male secondary sexual character is described for the first time in the genusLithobius.

Africa and Madagascar have a large and diverse fauna of the chafers of the ruteline beetle tribe Adoretini (Ohaus 1912, 1918). Many nominal taxa from Madagascar are still poorly known and many new ones were described recently (Akhmetova & Montreuil 2010; Montreuil 2010, 2013; Montreuil & Frolov 2014; Frolov & Montreuil 2018). One of the poorly known Adoretini taxa is the genus Trigonochilus Brenske, 1896. Trigonochilus was proposed to accommodate the East-African species T. coriaceus Brenske, 1896, based on the enlarged and curved metatibiae and a short, spur-like process of the labrum (Brenske 1896). Arrow (1901) noted that the enlarged metatibiae of this species (described from a single male) is a secondary sexual character and added another species to this genus, T. politus Arrow, 1901, from Angola. These species were revised by Krikken (1979). Fairmaire (1903) described Adoretus oedipus from Madagascar (without any precise locality) and noted its enlarged metatibia and the shape of the labrum similar to that in Trigonostonum Burmeister, 1844. Fairmaire was apparently unaware of the Brenske’s and Arrow’s works as he did not discuss the possible affinities of A. oedipus with Trigonochilus species. Ohaus (1912) moved A. oedipus to Trigonochilus after examination of the type series but he did not discuss the characters of the species in detail as well as its distribution on the island. Therefore, the genus Trigonochilus Brenske comprised three species described so far, two from Africa and one from Madagascar.

The E. ovina group of species is proposed here to include Edessa ovina Dallas, 1851 from Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina (new records) and Guyana; E. impura Bergroth, 1891 from Brazil and Argentina (new record); E. sahlbergii Stål, 1872 restricted to Brazil; and E. graziae sp. nov. from Brazil and Argentina. The E. ovina group can be identified by the apex of the second pair of wings narrowing distally and by a tumid area on the ventral surface of the pygophore (male genitalia) projected posteriorly. Descriptions, measurements, and illustrations of the metasternal process, external and internal genitalia of male and female are provided. A map with the distribution of the species is presented. The holotype of Edessa ovina is designated here. Edessa argali Breddin, 1903 is considered a junior synonym of E. impura. Females of E. ovina and E. impura, and male of E. sahlbergii are described for the first time.

This paper deals with two new records for the genus Vanilla in the Colombian Amazonia. Both species are part of the Vanilla planifolia group and exhibit fleshy leaves with conspicuous petioles, greenish flowers with concave lips, a well-defined penicillate callus and recurved lip apices with small papillae. The new species, Vanilla javieri, is easily distinguished by its habit as a small understory hemiepiphyte vine with terminal inflorescences exhibiting a basal, non-floriferous, sub-cordate foliaceous bract; small greenish cream-colored flowers with a glabrous ventral surface of the column and a strongly reflexed lip apex adorned by few digitiform papillae; along with highly aromatic fruits that are pendant, basally arcuate, rather stout and obscurely calyculate. The new species is sympatric and closely related to Vanilla appendiculata, reported here for the first time in Colombia. Botanical descriptions and photographs are presented for both species.

The small Microgastrinae genus Venanides is recorded from Europe (Netherlands, Germany and Czech Republic) for the first time, where one species, Venanides carcinae sp. nov., described here, proves to be a regular solitary parasitoid of Carcina quercana. Outline notes on its biology, phenology and abundance are given.

The oribatid mite subgenus Scheloribates (Topobates) Grandjean, 1958, is recorded from the Neotropical region for the first time. A new species of this subgenus is described from the leaf litter collected in Cayo Agua Island, Panama. Scheloribates (Topobates) panamaensis sp. nov. differs from its related species by the very large body size and presence of a strong ventrodistal process on the leg femora II–IV.

The Palaearctic species of the genus Trichardis Hermann, 1906 are reviewed. A new species, T. lehri sp. nov., is described. A new synonymy is established: T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) = T. afanasievae Lehr, 1964, syn. nov. The male of T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 is described for the first time. External features and the male genitalia of T. lehri sp. nov., T. leucocoma (van der Wulp, 1899) and T. mongolica V. Richter, 1972 are illustrated with photographs.

A review of species of the genus Blera Billberg, 1820 known from China is given. A new species, Blera longiseta sp. nov., is described. Three species, B. japonica (Shiraki, 1930), B. nitens (Stackelberg, 1923) and B. violovitshi Mutin, 1991, are recorded for the first time from China. An illustrated key to species is provided.

Two braconid genera from the subfamily Alysiinae, Lodbrokia Hedqvist, 1962 and Asyntactus Marshall, 1898, are recorded in the fauna of Russia and in the Asian continent for the first time. A new species Lodbrokia uralica sp. nov. is described from the Urals, and a key to species of this genus is provided. Redescriptions of the female and male of Asyntactus rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 with information about the level of variability of its morphological characters are given. Asyntactus sigalphoides Marshall, 1898 is synonymised with A. rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 (syn. nov.).

The genus Systenus Loew, 1857 is recorded from Afrotropical Region for the first time. A description of a new species, Systenus africanus Grichanov sp. nov., and notes on females of another probably new Afrotropical species are provided. The genus is considered now as cosmopolitan. A key to species and species groups of the Systenus worldwide is compiled.
