A single basin single slope solar still with 0.82mx 0.81m x 0.75m has been fabricated with G.I sheet and tested with different water depths of 2,3,4cm. Various solid and liquid sensible heat storage materials, Evaporative surface materials are used in the form of billets, in the still. To reduce glass cover temperature the outer glass was cooled by using sprinkler manually at regular interval of time. Theoretical analysis was performed and compared with experimental values. The performances of modified still were compared with conventional still of same size running under the same meteorological conditions. The solid sensible heat storage materials produces48% more productivity than conventional still. Liquid sensible heat storage material produces 19% more than conventional in till. The payback period of the still was 340 days.

Heat storage materials on the basis of liquid paraffins and their narrow fractions with the set temperature of phase transition and the increased heat capacity for enclosing the structures of buildings are received. A method of formulating compositions heat-storage materials with melting temperatures below 250C and increased heat capacity from a mixture of narrow fractions of commodity paraffins is proposed. The technique of obtaining heat-storage materials on the basis of commodity paraffin by mixing components, in obtaining HSM with specified thermal characteristics, the research of component composition, physico-chemical and thermophysical properties, in the research of their operational properties. The technical conditions for the obtained heat- storage materials on the basis of commodity paraffins are developed and the possibility of their application in the enclosing structures of buildings is substantiated. The developed heat-storage material with the set operational properties provides energy saving due to increase of heat capacity and intensity of heat exchange of enclosing designs of buildings.

The article presents the results of a study of the thermal properties of heat-accumulating materials based on bitumen paraffin. Heat-accumulating materials of a phase transition with a given melting point and phase transition obtained by mixing commercial solid bitumen paraffin and liquid paraffin and by mixing individual n-alkanes of a neighboring series were considered. It is shown that the sum of the enthalpies of melting and phase transition in the crystalline state thermal storage materials based on meta moderation depends on the width of the fractional part of the heat storage materials and cleanliness of the content of n-alkanes, from the fractional part of the heat storage material and the number of odd and even n-alkanes and their correlation, with the same melting point.
