In order to provide a theoretical basis for the alignment regulation of prestressed box-girder bridge with corrugated webs, so that the control for alignment can be more targeted. Optimization model of alignment regulation for cantilever constructed pre-stressed box-girder bridge with corrugated webs is proposed based on optimization principle. The sensitivity of alignment error, transverse stress of bottom plate and transverse deformation of corrugated web with respect to design parameters is analyzed during three classical construction stages. The results indicate that the concrete density, concrete elastic modulus, longitudinal and transverse pre-stress are key control parameters of alignment regulation; alignment error is not sensitive to the change of uniformly distributed temporary loads; the cantilever state at one fourth span is most sensitive to the change of design parameters.

PC box-girder bridge with corrugated webs is a new kind of bridge, which named by the thin steel webs replacing thick concrete webs. It is applied abroad in China recently, which attracts attention for its shearing property. Because of lacking relative design and construction code interiorly, the related data of Mi-Luo-Jiang bridge was used in the study with the software ANSYS 10.0. The shearing property and bucking stability of Mi-Luo-Jiang bridge were studied and a theory was verified: corrugated webs do not bear moment and axial force. Besides, the result that the decisive parameter of shearing property of Mi-Luo-Jiang bridge should be allowable shear stress is obtained. The other study had been done on buckling stability of box-girder bridge with different corrugated shapes, maintaining other parameters invariant. Finally, the optimal scope of lateral plane length is [0.2,0.4], and the optimal scope of folded angle is [20º,50º]. The parameters used in Mi-Luo-Jiang bridge is verified as the best value. This study is meaningful and the results can be applied in the design and construction of the same type bridge.

<p>While the traffic loads need to be understood toward efficient management of bridges, the loads on each bridge are not well assessed. An easy‐to‐implement vehicle weight estimation technique toward Bridge Weigh‐In‐Motion (BWIM) is developed based on wireless accelerometers; the algorithm is studied for the application to ordinary road bridges where traffic speed is not necessarily high and drive speed fluctuation is not insignificant. The method uses only accelerometers installed on the girders, decreasing installation cost and time which typical BWIM systems based on strain measurement need. A measurement system consisting of battery operated wireless sensors is employed. The system can continue to work over weeks to assess the vehicle weigh distributions of days of a week. The system is installed on a continuous box‐girder bridge and the performance is examined. The system was shown to assess the weight of all heavy vehicles.</p>
