In this paper, an optoelectronic hybrid processing system for cruise missile scene matching guidance based on convolute structure Joint-Transform-Correlator(JTC) was proposed. By edge detection of input image and binaryzation processing of joint power spectrum, the system can achieve sharper correlation peak and location accuracy. Simulation calculation and optical experiments show that even in noisy background, the system can obtain excellent recognition and location performances with 16frames/s, recognition probability greater than 94%, and location accuracy better than a pixel. It is very advantageous to meet the demands of further improving performance, speed, and shoot accuracy of the cruise missiles.

The optical joint transform correlator (JTC) has been used in target real-time recognition, but the anti-distortion performance has always been the difficult problem for recognition system, which limits its further development and application. In this paper the principle and experimental system of JTC are introduced. The effect of target distortion is analyzed and the optimization method is proposed. The synthetic discriminate function and the power subtraction are applied to process the joint power spectrum and eliminate zero-order correlation peak. The result shows that the optimization methods can enhance the output peaks and improve the anti-distortion performance of joint transform correlator for target identification.

The optical joint transform correlator (JTC) has been used in target real-time recognition, but the interference of complex background has always been the difficult problem for recognition system, which limits its further development and application. In this paper the principle and experimental system of JTC are introduced. The interference of complex background is simulated and the optimization method is proposed to process the joint power spectrum to eliminate zero-order correlation peak. The analysis result shows that the method of power subtraction can enhance the output peaks and improve the recognition efficiency, particularly for target identification in complex background.
