Coking wastewater is generated from metallurgy industry and it contains many highly toxic substances. Because the coking wastewater would bring about severe environmental pollution, it is best to reuse it as circulating cooling water. However, there are large quantities of ions in coking wastewater, which would cause serious corrosion to the pipe and the devices in the process of recycling. Therefore, desalting techniques are necessary for the reused of coking wastewater. Electrosorption technique (EST), as a new type of water treatment technology, can meet the economic benefits of water treatment technology. It also can achieve better water quality and reliability standards which have never been achieved before. In this paper, a new electrosorption device was invented and it was used for desalting of coking wastewater. The main parameters affecting the electrosorption of ions including voltage, electrosorption time, pH value, temperature and electric current have been investigated in detail. Under the optimized experimental condition, after electrosorption process, a salt removal rate of 75% was obtained. The quality of effluent could satisfy the criterion of industrial circulating cooling water (GB 50050-2007) and could be reused as the circulating cooling water in coking plant.

Produced in industrial production processes such as electrolysis, electroplate and metal pickling, industrial wastewater, which contains acids, varieties of heavy metal and whose pH value is less than 6, can be very damaging to our daily life and environment and is an urgent issue to be solved. In recent years, with environmental protection becoming an important issue around the world, and environmental regulations becoming more and more complete, the traditional water treatment technology which can cause secondary pollution is gradually restricted, and this leads to the result that environmental scientists and engineers pay more attention on the development and application of "environmentally friendly" water treatment technology[1]. Of all acid wastewater neutralizers, magnesium hydroxide, known as "green and safe neutralizer"[2, 3], is safe, reliable, non-toxic, harmless, and has high buffer performance, high activity, high adsorption capacity, and no corrosivity compared with traditional strong alkali substances (such as CaO, Ca (OH)2and NaOH, etc.). Therefore magnesium hydroxide has been widely used in the acid wastewater neutralization[4].

The oxygenated feed-water treatment technology of supercritical unit can effectively decrease the corrosion of water-steam system, and thus steam-water quality and operating efficiency are greatly promoted. In view of modes of feed-water treatment technology for supercritical unit, the characteristics of oxide film in thermal system under AVT and OT conditions are compared; and then, the principle of oxygenated feed-water treatment technology was elaborated. Besides, the oxygenated conditions, controlling of water quality, advantages, the relation between formation of oxide scale and oxygen plus are analyzed. Finally, the paper introduced weak oxiding feed-water treatment technology, with the principle of low oxygen and high pH value.

It brings annual water conservation of 147600 m3 and economic benefits of hundreds of thousands to millions for forsaking chemical dosing for a 15MW power unit. Therefore, Considerable economic and social benefits and the goals required by the state to the enterprises of energy saving, emission reduction and environmental protection are achieved.
