AC Skipper is an early-maturing navy bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivar with good canning characteristics. It was developed at the Lethbridge Research Centre from a complex three-way cross of Kentwood, Swan Valley and Redkloud. AC Skipper has a short determinate bush growth habit, matures almost 3 d before OAC Seaforth, and is adapted to all bean growing regions of western Canada. AC Earlired is an early-maturing small red dry bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivar. It was developed from a cross of Ember by line 5217 at the Lethbridge Research Centre, with cooperation from the Morden Research Centre, AC Earlired is particularly well adapted to the irrigated western Canadian prairies, maturing on average 5 d before NW63, with equal seed yield. Resolute is an early-maturing upright great northern bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivar, developed at the AAFC Research Centre, Lethbridge, Alberta in collaboration with the AAFC Research Station, Morden, Manitoba. Resolute is resistant to both yellow and orange strains of the bacterial wilt pathogen, Curtobacterium flaccumfasciens pv. Flaccumfasciens (Hedges) Collins & Jones. Morden003 is an early-maturing navy bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivar, developed at the AAFC Research Centre, Lethbridge, Alberta with final selection and testing carried out at the AAFC Research Station, Morden, Manitoba. Morden003 has higher levels of resistance to anthracnose, caused by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum (Sacc. & Magnus) Lams.-Scrib., than the susceptible check cultivar, Othello pinto bean, and to white mould, caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary, than the navy bean check cultivar, Envoy. Morden003 is particularly well adapted to Manitoba growing conditions, and matures significantly earlier than the check cultivar, Envoy. AC Compass navy bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) was developed at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Greenhouse and Processing Crops Research Centre (GPCRC), Harrow, Ontario. It has high yield potential, erect plant type and medium-early maturity in southwestern Ontario where it is recommended for areas with 2600 or higher CHU. AAC Tundra is a high-yielding, early-maturing great northern bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) with an upright, indeterminate bush growth habit with long vines (Type IIb). AAC Tundra was developed at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) Research Centre, Lethbridge, AB. AAC Tundra has a large seed size and improved field resistance to white mould compared with the check cultivar AC Polaris. AAC Tundra is suitable for irrigated wide row production in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

AC Cruiser navy bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) was developed at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Greenhouse and Processing Crops Research Centre (GPCRC), Harrow, Ontario. It has good yield potential and a semi-determinate growth habit with a very up right plant type and medium-early maturity. The cultivar is recommended for areas in southwestern Ontario with 2650 or higher crop heat units. It has a low level of resistance to common bacterial blight. AC Cruiser was registered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Variety Registration Office (Registration no. 5360) on September 21, 2001.
