The objective of the present study is to empirically examine the effect of knowledge sharing and trust on psychological capital and emotional intelligence (EI). The study also investigates the relationship between psychological capital and EI on organizational excellence. The role of gender as a moderator is examined in these relationships. The survey data were collected from 792 faculty members from three premier higher educational institutions from the southern part of India. After checking the psychometric properties of the survey instrument, data were analysed using hierarchical regression. The results obtained demonstrate that (a) knowledge sharing is significantly and positively related to psychological capital and EI, (b) trust is significantly and positively related to psychological capital and EI, (c) psychological capital and EI are significantly and positively related to organizational excellence and (d) gender moderated the relationship between (a) knowledge sharing and psychological capital, (b) knowledge sharing and EI, (c) trust and psychological capital, and (d) trust and EI. The implications for management are discussed.

With the increasing number of crisis events occurring in higher educational institutions, crisis management has attracted research attention. This article focuses on student protests that were widely experienced throughout the university campuses in Pakistan. By adapting a multiple case study and Zdriaski’s ‘Crisis Matrix’ as the conceptual and analytical framework, the researcher examines higher educational institutions real life experience with student’s protests.The purpose of this qualitative study was to report descriptions of challenges and strategies as narrated by leaders who had experienced campus crisis with complete reflections on their leadership competencies and strategies used. Additionally, after managing the crisis comprehensive list of leadership competencies required for organizational learning were explored. This study has value for practitioners when organizational learning is selected as an approach to organizational effectiveness specially during challenging times when learning is promoted at all levels and aligned with the overall strategic intent.

The effectiveness and productivity of an organization depends on its staff and if they don’t be satisfied from their job, continues of living for such organization is impossible. One of the important factors which influence on job satisfaction, is an organizational learning capability (OLC). So, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between organizational learning capability and its dimensions (experimentation, risk taking, interaction with the external environment, dialogue and participative decision making) with job satisfaction. The population of this study was the employees of Tejarat Bank in Sari city, Iran and the sample number became 103. The data of job satisfaction gathered by a single item of Chiva and Alegre’s (2008(questionnaire and for gathering the data of organizational learning capability, we used Chiva et al.’s (2007) OLC measurement instrument. For testing and analyzing the hypotheses, pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression have been used.   The results of study show that there is a positive relationship between organizational learning capability with job satisfaction. Furthermore, the results revealed the five dimensions of organizational learning capability (experimentation, risk taking, interaction with the external environment, dialogue and participative decision making) had positive relationship with job satisfaction.   Keywords: Organizational learning capability, Job satisfaction, Staff

The article deals with forming conscious discipline among students of higher educational institutions, as well as defines the criteria for assessing the development of discipline. The research object of the present work is the process of educating conscious discipline among students of higher educational institutions. The authors used the following methods in the article. Firstly, the analysis of literature sources made it possible to single out the main theories that were taken as the basis for the study. Secondly, the surbey method of conversation allowed the authors to identify the main problems of the relationship between students and teachers, as well as the reasons for the violation of discipline. Thirdly, the authors used the observation method, which helped to determine the relationship and actions of students in the group. This made it possible to more objectively identify the causes of conflicts and develop proposals for their resolution. The authors also studied special methodological literature on improving student discipline, which allowed them to propose measures to increase students’ motivation in the formation of conscious discipline. According to the authors, purposefulness, objectivity and pedagogically expedient actions of teachers, and their communication with students are the leading conditions that ensure the parenting of conscious discipline.
