The need for high-viscosity oil production in the fields of the Russian Federation is substantiated. The technology of high-viscosity oil production by the thermoshaft method is considered, harmful and hazardous factors at the workplaces of the underground group workers are identified, first of all, the microclimate parameters (increased air temperature of the working area), which effect on the formation of occupational diseases and an increase in the risk of injury to the personnel. The main problems associated with the imperfection of the technology of the thermoshaft method for the extraction of high-viscosity oil, which effect on the safety of conducting operations for the extraction of heavy oil, are investigated, and presented. The options of opening up a high-viscosity oil field with a modular mine, which allows to normalize the thermal regime in mine workings, improve working conditions of the oil miners, reduce the level of occupational diseases and injury rate, reduce the volume of work and the costs of mining operations and maintenance of the mine workings, are considered. The system for the development of the Yaregskoye field of high-viscosity oil with the division of the mine field into separate production blocks using a sectional ventilation scheme, which provides for independent ventilation of each module due to the construction of an air supply and air exhaust shafts in each block-module of the mine is proposed in the article. The surface and underground complex of shafts for the construction of a modular mine is presented. The calculation is carried out and the results of technical solutions for airing various modifications of mini — mines are given. The drilling gallery was designed, which is typical for all the options of opening. In the designed modular mines, a closed oil gathering system is proposed. Comparative economic analysis showed the efficiency of the development of new areas of the Yaregskoye high-viscosity oil field using the construction of modular mines.

One of the chemical methods of stimulating the reservoir to increase the efficiency of the oil field development process is polymer flooding. This article conducted a feasibility study of the effectiveness of the application of polymer flooding technology in one field in Western Kazakhstan. This field is characterized by high viscosity of reservoir oil, water cut, and dynamic heterogeneity of the reservoir. World experience in the application of polymer flooding in analogous fields shows high technological efficiency. Presented results of the analysis of the experience of applying technology in analogous fields, physicochemical studies of polymers, filtration studies on bulk models, hydrodynamic modeling of polymer flooding and the expected cost-effectiveness of introducing the technology, as applied to the conditions of the Karazhanbas oil field with high viscosity of reservoir oil. The analysis based on the experience of applying polymer flooding in high-viscosity oil fields, laboratory studies and estimated calculations of the expected production in the sector geological and hydrodynamic model shows a decrease in water cut, an increase in oil production, and an increase in current and final oil recovery.

The article analyzes the organizational structure of the project management development with regard to the field of traditional oil reserves, functional responsibilities and areas of responsibility of its participants, as well as the mechanisms of their interaction during the implementation of work to form the organizational structure of managing a large and unique project – the development of high-viscosity oil deposits. It has been revealed that in modern business conditions the implementation of projects for the development and recovery of high-viscosity oil fields based on the traditional organizational structure of management is not effective enough. The main reasons that impede the successful implementation of projects for the development of new deposits based on the traditional organizational structure of management are identified. A new organizational structure for managing a field development project is proposed, which includes a single center of responsibility for the field development project. By the example of the Ashalchinskoye field, the economic effect of using the formed organizational structure for managing the project for developing the field in the form of a possible additional annual oil production was calculated.
