The new subgenus Maculergithus subgen. nov. is established to accommodate two new species of the genus Gergithus Stål, 1870 (Issinae, Hemisphaeriini): G. (Maculergithus) tamdao subgen. et sp. nov. and G. (Maculergithus) luteomaculatus subgen. et sp. nov. from Tam Dao National Park in North Vietnam. Two more species from Hainan, China, G. multipunctatus Che, Zhang & Wang, 2007 and G. nonomaculatus Meng & Wang, 2012 are also placed in Maculergithus subgen. nov. A fifth species from Hainan, yet undescribed and erroneously identified as G. multipunctatus in recent papers also belongs to this new subgenus. Illustrations of habitus, morphological details and male genitalia together with a distribution map and an identification key to the species of Maculergithus subgen. nov. are provided. Four species of the genus Gergithus are now recorded in Vietnam. A rectificative note on the misinterpretation of G. multipunctatus in recent publications on Issidae is also provided.

Two new species of the genus Gergithoides Schumacher, 1915 (Issinae, Hemisphaeriini), G. gnezdilovi sp. nov. from Bidoup-Nui Ba National Park in Central Vietnam and G. nui sp. nov. from Pia-Oac National Park in North Vietnam, are described. These are the only species of the genus formally recorded from Vietnam to date. Habitus, details and male genitalia are illustrated and a distribution map is provided. Four females representing three or four additional species, known from females only, are mentioned and illustrated. Taxonomic and biogeographical updates based on a thorough review of the literature are proposed and discussed for G. carinatifrons Schumacher, 1915, G. rugulosus (Melichar, 1906) and G. undulatus Wang & Che, 2003.

A list of identified taxa, including 119 species from 80 genera and 47 families, is presented; of these, 13 species (Epilohmannoides rabori, Camisia spinifer, Sadocepheus undulatus, Eremobelba flexuosa, Hammerella excisa, Suctobelbella inenodabilis, Dolicheremaeus auritus, Eupelops acromios, Protoribates genitalis, Allogalumna machadoi, Carinogalumna philippinensis, Pergalumna magnipora capillaris, Galumnella nipponica) and five genera (Epilohmannoides, Camisia, Sadocepheus, Brassiella, Carinogalumna) are recorded in the Vietnamese fauna for the first time, and two species (Tokunocepheus mizusawai, Flagellozetes (Cosmogalumna) ornatus), one genus (Tokunocepheus) and one family (Tokunocepheidae) are recorded in the Oriental region for the first time. Two new species are described: Ramusella paraarcuata sp. nov. differs from Ramusella arcuata Mahunka & Mahunka-Papp, 2012 by the larger body size, lamellar setae similar in length and thickness to interlamellar setae, the presence of two or three branches on bothridial setae, and the absence of notogastral setae c. Neoribates paragracilis sp. nov. differs from Neoribates gracilis Travé, 1972 by the larger body size, and the presence of long apex (not shorter than head) on bothridial setae.

The oribatid mite family Liacaridae (Acari, Oribatida) is recorded in Vietnam for the first time. Two new species of liacarids of the genera Liacarus and Xenillus are described from Tam Dao National Park, northern Vietnam. Liacarus vietnamensis sp. nov. is similar to L. laterostris Mihelčič, 1954 in the morphology of lamellar cusps (inner teeth well-developed; interlamellar tubercle absent) and in having long interlamellar setae and short notogastral setae, but differs by the directions of lamellar cusps and morphology of bothridial setae. Xenillus tamdaoensis sp. nov. is similar to X. longipilus Pérez-Íñigo & Peña, 1995 in having long notogastral setae, insertion of notogastral setae lm posterior to la, and the presence of an interlamellar tubercle, but differs by the morphology and position of lamellar cusps, size of the interlamellar tubercle and length of interlamellar setae.

A new species of the genus Eurostocepheus (Oribatida, Otocepheidae) is described from soil and litter of Tam Dao National Park in Northern Vietnam. Eurostocepheus (Eurostocepheus) wojciechniedbalai sp. nov. is morphologically most similar to E. (E.) mahunkai Mondal & Kundu, 1999 from India in the presence of four pairs of genital setae and medial prodorsal condyles, but differs by the quadrangular, anteromedially excavated lateral notogastral condyles, short interlamellar setae, short notogastral setae c, minute epimeral setae 1a, 2a, 3a, two pairs of epimeral setae on epimere IV, and by the transverse position of the anal setae. Revised generic and subgeneric diagnoses, an identification key to the known taxa, and data on the distribution and ecology of Eurostocepheus are presented.

Aspidistra clausa and Aspidistra triradiata are described and illustrated as new species from northern Vietnam (Vinh Phuc province, Tam Dao National Park). Aspidistra clausa is similar to A. crassifila, but has narrower leaves (lamina 2.8–4.5 cm vs. 6–12 cm), perigone tube wide tubular vs. campanulate, appendages longer, stigma conical vs. mushroom-shaped. Aspidistra triradiata is similar to A. hainanensis, but flowers larger (1.8–2.4 cm long, Ø 1.8–2.8 cm vs. 1–1.2 cm long, Ø 1.3–1.5 cm), perigone urceolate, lobes with 4 verrucose keels, stigma with three purple radial lines.

A new species of Galumna (Galumna) (Oribatida, Galumnidae) are described from a sample of grass rhizosphere, from a meadow of the Tam Dao National Park, Northern Vietnam. Galumna (Galumna) dkrivolutskyi sp. nov. differs from G. pseudotriquetra Ermilov, 2015(b) by the larger body size, bothridial heads slightly developed unilaterally and by the absence of sejugal suture medially. A supplementary description of G. discifera Balogh, 1960 is present based on Vietnamese specimens. Morphological additions to description of the Vietnamese species, G. acutirostrum Ermilov & Anichkin, 2010, are given. An identification key to known species of Galumna (Galumna) from the Oriental region is provided.

Three new species of oribatid mites of the genus Protoribates (Oribatida, Haplozetidae) are described based on adult specimens from the Tam Dao National Park of Northern Vietnam. Protoribates chistyakovi sp. nov. differs from P. sangumburiensis (Choi, 1996) by being larger, the localization of lamellar setae, and morphology of rostrum and interlamellar setae. Protoribates shaldybinae sp. nov. differs from P. dentatus (Berlese, 1883) by its distinctly foveolate body surface, morphology of pedotecta II and leg tarsi I and II, and much longer adanal setae ad2. Protoribates shvanderovi sp. nov. differs from P. gracilis (Aoki, 1982) by its larger body size, localization of lamellar setae, and the relative lengths of lamellar, interlamellar and bothridial setae, and longer dorsophragmata. An identification key to the Vietnamese species of the genus Protoribates is given.
