Piezochaerus and the species P. bondari Melzer, 1932 (type-species) are redescribed. Three new species are described from Brazil: P. monnei sp. nov. (Linhares, Espírito Santo) have dorsal pubescence whitish gray with a bluish reflection depending on the direction of illumination; basal half of the epipleuron with a spot formed by orangish pubescence; P. melzeri sp. nov. (Pedra Azul, Minas Gerais and Pedro Canário, Espírito Santo) with elytra narrower at the apex, sides converging towards the apex beginning at the basal 1/3; apex without external spine; elytral pubescence yellowish with brownish spot, developed and oblique at the base and other median; and P. marcelae sp. nov. (Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais) with unicolor dorsal pubescence, whitish gray, elytra not depressed; bicolorous femurs, witch is orangish in the basal 2/3, dark in the apical 1/3. An illustrated key to the species is also included.

Three new species from Brazil, Stenocerus christus sp. nov. (Rio de Janeiro, Corcovado), Stenocerus fratris sp. nov. (Espírito Santo, Santa Maria de Jetibá) and Stenocerus mesosternalius sp. nov. (Espírito Santo, Alegre, Fazenda Jerusalem), and a new species from Peru, Stenocerus similis sp. nov. (Mariscau, Juanjuí), are described and illustrated. Stenocerus paraguayensis Jordan, 1895 syn. nov. is proposed as a junior synonym of S. fulvitarsis (Germar, 1824). A key to all species of the genus Stenocerus is provided.

Abstract— Reinterpreting the morphology of two taxa proposed by Victoria C. Hollowell in the 1980s and not formally published, we describe here three new species of Eremitis, a Neotropical genus of herbaceous bamboos (Poaceae, Bambusoideae, Olyreae), which is endemic to the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. Two of them, Eremitis grandiflora and E. paucifolia, are endemic to Espírito Santo state. Eremitis victoriae occurs in southern Espírito Santo and has also been documented for southern Bahia. Eremitis grandiflora is similar to the smallest species of the genus, but can be differentiated by its decumbent culms with scale-like leaf blades and its longer gynecandrous whorls. Eremitis paucifolia is characterized by its leafy culms with a reduced number of leaves [5‐6(‐7)] compared to other species of the genus. Eremitis victoriae is distinguished from the congeneric species mainly by its abaxially glaucous leaf blades. Here, we provide an identification key to all described species of Eremitis that occur in Espírito Santo, as well as a map with their geographical distribution. All three new species are illustrated with both line drawings and photographic images, and an informal assessment of their conservation status is presented.

Three new species are described here: Oxyagrion zielmae sp. nov. (Coenagrionidae) from one male collected at Costa Rica, Mato Grosso do Sul state; Lestes fernandoi sp.nov. (Lestidae) from a pair from Imperatriz, Maranhão state and Perithemis capixaba sp. nov. (Libellulidae) from one male from Mutum Preto, Espírito Santo state, all deposited at Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Oxyagrion zielmae is similar to O. pavidum Selys, 1876 but differs by having cerci and paraprocts the same size, pterostigma long and narrow and terminal segment of genital ligula with the two lobes larger than in O. pavidum. Lestes fernandoi is compared with L. auritus Hagen in Selys, 1862; L. bipupillatus Calvert, 1909; L. dichrostigma Calvert, 1909; Lestes falcifer Sjöstedt, 1918; L. forficula Rambur, 1842; L. minutus Selys, 1862 and L. paulistus Calvert, 1909. The new species is most similar to Lestes falcifer and L. paulistus, but differ by the peculiar color of pterothorax, caudal appendages and genital ligula. Perithemis capixaba is similar to P. mooma Kirby, 1889 but differs by having the first segment of vesica spermalis slowly rounded, in P. mooma this structure is trapezoidal. Illustrated keys to new species are included.

Three new species of genus Ischnomesus are described from three Brazilian sedimentary Basins: Alagoas-Sergipe, Espírito Santo and Campos. Ischnomesus hirsutus sp. nov. was found at depths between 1445 m and 3000 m in Alagoas-Sergipe Basin and Espírito Santo Basin. This species is characterized by having pereonite I with 1 pair of anterolateral small pedestal spines, pereonites I–IV with a pair of anterodorsal pedestal setae and pleotelson with lateral fields bulge Ischnomesus longiseta sp. nov. was found between 400 and 1000 m, on the upper slope in Alagoas-Sergipe Basin and Espírito Santo Basin, and is characterized by having the pereonites without spines or tubercles, but covered with long simple setae, pleotelson with 5 lateral simple setae, without spines or tubercles. Ischnomesus wilsoni sp. nov. was found on the upper slope between 750 and 830 m in Espírito Santo Basin and Campos Basin. This species has the body entirely ornamented with pedestal spines. This is the first record of the family Ischnomesidae for Brazilian waters.

Three new species of Pleroma are described: Pleroma costatocalyx, P. kollmanniana and P. subsessilis. All three species are morphologically similar to Tibouchina heteromalla and related species, especially due to the shrubby habit, elongated inflorescences, flowers with purple petals, but white at their bases, antesepalous stamens with the connective covered with glandular trichomes, and by the short (ca. 4–5 mm long), curved style. All three species differ from T. heteromalla by the styles with trichomes (vs. glabrous in T. heteromalla). Pleroma costatocalyx also differs from T. heteromalla by the longitudinally costate hypanthium, P. kollmanniana by the strongly winged branches, bigger leaves, and shorter petioles, and P. subsessilis by the concolorous leaves and antepetalous stamens with glabrous connective and appendages. All new species grow in vegetation associated with inselbergs and are endemic to Espírito Santo state, despite the fact that one of them (P. costatocalyx) was collected very close to the border with Minas Gerais, where it probably occurs. We present descriptions, taxonomic comments, illustrations, and conservation status assignments for the new species.
