Shape adjustment and stress control can be considered as one of the effective parameters in prestressed cable structures since such structures are widely constructed nowadays due to their characteristics. The assembly errors and applied loads hugely affect the cables’ nodal positions and stress due to their delicacy. The former could disturb the shape, which affects the appearance and the function of the structure. In contrast, the latter may increase the stress in some cables above the upper limit or induce slack in some others. Accordingly, a technique has been proposed that combined fmincon optimization that relies on four different algorithms with a controlling approach based on the force method. The presented method aims to minimize the total amount of actuation and miniaturize the number of actuators. The targets of previously confirmed techniques can be obtained with less actuation and fewer actuators by using the current technique. Based on the verified examples, the advantage of the current approach over the quoted methods is up to 55% and 37% in terms of the number of actuators and the total amount of actuation, respectively.

This study investigated the feasibility of using CFRP cable as tension cables in suspen domes in view of the fact that suspen domes have been made with steel cables as its cable-strut system for centuries due to its availability. Indisputably, CFRP cables have become the material of choice in the 21st century for its efficiency and innovative design in bridge works. However, the application of CFRP cables to other cable structures has been limited. The need for its application to other cable structures is required in order to acquire more knowledge about its behavioral patterns. This paper gives preliminary findings of a successfully designed and constructed suspen dome prototype which comprehensively deepens the understanding of CFRP cable performance as a cable-strut system in a suspen dome. Results show that with its high stiffness, low weight and high strength, CFRP has proven to be a technically efficient and adequately strengthening material for structurally improving the adequacy of a suspen dome.

The experience of technical operation of line-cable structures of transport multichannel communication is analyzed. It is shown that in Russia it is impossible to apply the current guidance documents to the technology linear-cable structures of transport-multichannel communication. It is necessary to develop a new guidance document “Guidelines for implementation of scheduled preventive and emergency recovery works at line-cable structures of transport multichannel communications”.

"Push-and-pull" efficient structures have been inconceivable between XVIII centuries. It is because of the incapacity of obtain an efficient behaviour of tensioned material. Since XVIII centuries, architecture began to experiment new processes of adaptation defining new typologies in the engineering and architecture that had not been experienced until that moment. Tensegrities and tensioned structures were developed from the study of tension and geometry. Since then it has been emerged studies of this type by researchers who have continued or have been interested in these works.Tensegrities are bar and cable structures that work only in compression or tension efforts. Bars and cables are balanced, but in appearance the growth is disorderly. Most of deployable structures are based on tensegrity systems. This paper presents a synthesis of the art state of the set of technical solutions to the design of architectures based on tensegrities and tensioned structures that will be applied to the building construction. The research of adequate materials to tension efforts will be crucial in this study. This study provides a strong documental foundation for research on the significance of new structural and constructive systems in the production of the current architecture based on tensegrities and tensioned structures.
