Abstract 3D laser scanning technology overcomes the limitation of single point measurement in traditional measurement methods, which can convert the 3D information of objects and site environmental into data processed by computers. The 3D laser scanning technology is usually called restoration of real scenes technology, which has been widely used in automobile, architecture, terrain exploration, petro and other industries. During the construction stage of nuclear power project, the 3D laser scanning technology can be used to get the real environment information on site. Through comparative analysis of the real environment information and the design model environment, risks can be easily identified in advance and mitigation measures can be performed in time, thus effectively avoiding the rework and saving the cost of the project.

Abstract Dome lifting is one of the most important milestones for nuclear power project. The lifting operation must be properly planned and carried out in safety manner. The simulation and analysis are usually done before lifting activities to ensure the smooth lifting implementation. By using of 3D model and survey data on site to assist dome lifting, the risks related to lifting activities can be discovered and the risk elimination scheme can be formulated at early stage. Combining with Power Plant Design Management System (PDMS), design inspection software NAVISWORKS and survey data on site, the accuracy of simulation and verification can be increased, the deviations and non-conformities can be easily found. Through the implementation of this technical scheme, it helps to ensure the smooth and safe implementation of the milestone of dome lifting for nuclear power project. This paper gives an example for combining 3D model and survey on site to simulate dome lifting, methods and suggestions are given for guidance for other projects.

A nuclear power project phase I (AP1000) has many “world No.1”. It is so many “first”, put forward unprecedented challenges to the design of the turbine building. This paper introduces the composition of each part of the turbine building, and analyses the problems of the turbine building, such as traffic evacuation, fire prevention, waterproof, lighting, ventilation, corrosion prevention. The characteristics of turbine building design are further discussed. The energy saving of turbine building and the design method and process of the building facade are also analyzed. The completion and production of the Nuclear Power Project Phase I have accumulated valuable experience and provided reference for subsequent projects.

Started with the concept and significance of Public Participation (PP), and based on the current situation of internet voluntary action of nuclear related affair in China, this paper indicated that in China, PP in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of Nuclear Power Project (NPP) was inadequate and cannot play the appropriate role in decision-making of NPP. By surveying the situation of PP of nuclear power industry in the developed countries, which focused on the incepts in the legal basis in PP, the participants, the participation stages and the methods, some issues and flaws in PP of China were indicated. Meanwhile, some suggestions were proposed as a reference of PP in EIA of NPP in China and in favor of the development of nuclear power safety.
