Seventeen species of the family Gryllidae were reviewed and a Modicogryllus sindhensis is described herein as new. Four species, namely Acheta hispanicus Rambur, 1838, Gryllus septentrionalis F. Walker, 1869, Callogryllus saeedi Saeed, 2000, and Miogryllus itaquiensis Orsini & Zefa, 2017 are recorded as new country and state records. A new species of Hiperantha (Hyperanthoides) is described from northeast Brazil: Hiperantha (Hyperanthoides) pikachu sp. nov. Identification key of the genus Hiperantha is modified to include the new species. We also present a compilation of all species of the genus known from Brazil, including new state records for the following species: H. (s. str.) interrogationis (Klug, 1825), H. (H.) testacea (Fabricius, 1801), H. (s. str.) menetriesii Mannerheim, 1837, H. (s. str.) menetriesii ornaticollis (Gory & Laporte, 1839), H. (s. str.) bella Saunders, 1869 and H. (H.) decorata (Gory, 1841).

The myrmecophilous Paederinae rove beetle genus Megastilicus Casey, 1889 from North America is reviewed based on museum specimens. Prior to this study, the genus was monotypic with one species Megastilicus formicarius Casey, 1889 described. Here, we provide a redescription of the genus and the type species, designate a lectotype, and provide pictures of habitus and illustrations of the aedeagus and genital segments. Additionally, we describe a new species for the genus, Megastilicus iowaensis sp. nov., include an identification key to the two species and present the distribution map of both of them, including new state records. We discuss the assignment of the genus to the subtribe Stilicina based on morphological features.

Eight species-group names of longhorned woodboring beetles in the genus Anelaphus are corrected. Four new species of Anelaphus Linsley, 1936 are described: A. steveni Santos-Silva, sp. nov., from Mexico (Chiapas); A. erici Santos-Silva, sp. nov., from Nicaragua (Granada); A. izabalensis Santos-Silva, sp. nov., from Guatemala (Izabal); and A. zacapensis Santos-Silva, sp. nov., from Guatemala (Zacapa). New Mexican state records for Anelaphus undulatus (Bates, 1880) are provided. The female of Anelaphus pilosus Chemsak and Noguera, 2003 is described for the first time, and the species is newly recorded from Guatemala. The inclusion of Anelaphus nitidipennis Chemsak and Linsley, 1968 in this genus is questioned.

We report the Bombycoidea and Mimallonoidea (Lepidoptera) observed at the the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul’s (UFRGS) Agronomic Research Station in Eldorado do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil from September 7th to November 6th, 2018. This research station is situated in the Campos Sulinos (southern Brazilian grasslands) environment. As part of our inventory, we report the following Bombycoidea: 29 species of Sphingidae, 26 species of Saturniidae, at least seven species of Apatelodidae, and at least four species of Bombycidae. Within Mimallonidae we recorded eight species. New state records include the following Sphingidae: Xylophanes alineae, X. crenulata, and Perigonia stulta; and Mimallonidae: Mimallo grisea and the genus Menevia. Our study represents the first inventory of moths from this location and one of the few from the Campos Sulinos more broadly.

The species of Pentatomidae known to occur north of Mexico, comprising 223 species in 68 genera, are enumerated with taxonomic notes and updated and annotated distributions. Included in this update are 126 new state records reported for 62 pentatomid species in 30 genera. The copious annotations in these distributions and attendant bibliography serve as an extensive compilation of overlooked references that might contain distributional records for other insect, especially heteropteran, species.
