Given a finite commutative unital ring S having some non-zero elements x ,   y such that x . y = 0 , the elements of S that possess such property are called the zero divisors, denoted by Z S . We can associate a graph to S with the help of zero-divisor set Z S , denoted by ζ S (called the zero-divisor graph), to study the algebraic properties of the ring S . In this research work, we aim to produce some general bounds for the edge version of metric dimension regarding zero-divisor graphs of S . To do so, we will discuss the zero-divisor graphs for the ring of integers ℤ m modulo m , some quotient polynomial rings, and the ring of Gaussian integers ℤ m i modulo m . Then, we prove the general result for the bounds of edge metric dimension of zero-divisor graphs in terms of maximum degree and diameter of ζ S . In the end, we provide the commutative rings with the same metric dimension, edge metric dimension, and upper dimension.

We construct new “standard modules” for the representations of general linear groups over a local non-archimedean field. The construction uses a modified Robinson–Schensted–Knuth correspondence for Zelevinsky’s multisegments. Typically, the new class categorifies the basis of Doubilet, Rota, and Stein (DRS) for matrix polynomial rings, indexed by bitableaux. Hence, our main result provides a link between the dual canonical basis (coming from quantum groups) and the DRS basis.

This article concerns a ring property called pseudo-reduced-over-center that is satisfied by free algebras over commutative reduced rings. The properties of radicals of pseudo-reduced-over-center rings are investigated, especially related to polynomial rings. It is proved that for pseudo-reduced-over-center rings of nonzero characteristic, the centers and the pseudo-reduced-over-center property are preserved through factor rings modulo nil ideals. For a locally finite ring [Formula: see text], it is proved that if [Formula: see text] is pseudo-reduced-over-center, then [Formula: see text] is commutative and [Formula: see text] is a commutative regular ring with [Formula: see text] nil, where [Formula: see text] is the Jacobson radical of [Formula: see text].

The concept of H-bases, introduced long ago by Macauly, has become an important ingredient for the treatment of various problems in computational algebra. The concept of H-bases is for ideals in polynomial rings, which allows an investigation of multivariate polynomial spaces degree by degree. Similarly, we have the analogue of H-bases for subalgebras, termed as SH-bases. In this paper, we present an analogue of H-bases for finitely generated ideals in a given subalgebra of a polynomial ring, and we call them “HSG-bases.” We present their connection to the SAGBI-Gröbner basis concept, characterize HSG-basis, and show how to construct them.
