Kinetics study of spreading processes of epoxy binders on carbon cloth surface with metal coating

The results of experimental studies of kinetics of spreading processes of epoxy binders on the surface of a carbon (cloth) tape depending on a reinforcement pattern are presented. A copper coating of 100 nm thickness was deposited on reinforced materials by magnetron sputtering. It has been found out that a metal coating on the surface of a carbon tape and cloth leads to a considerable increase in the rate of spreading processes only for the laying-out pattern 0°, when binder movement in capillaries is provided. The deposition of a copper coating on the surface of the carbon tape and cloth has considerably the bigger influence on kinetics of the spreading processes, increasing it by 35%.

Chemical durability of glass-reinforced plastics based on epoxy binders with curing agents Etal

Studies of chemical durability of a glass-reinforced plastic produced with the use of an epoxy binder with the curing agents Etal-45M, Etal-M7, Etal-23Kh under conditions of boiling in water and storage at 95 °С in 10% NaOH solution have been carried out. It was found out that glass-reinforced plastics with the binders Etal-45M and Etal-23Kh were the most stable to the influence of the aggressive environments.

Raising anti-shock performance of epoxy organic plastics

The analysis of fracture of composite materials based on aramid fabrics and epoxy binders with different viscosities under impact is carried out. The dependence of impact resistance on the location of the reinforcing elements and the viscosity of the binder is shown.
