To produce a quality product, in the process of 3D-printing it is necessary to ensure high adhesion between material and the surface of a 3D-printer table. The main methods of table surface preparation, used materials, and the field of their application are considered. The further study direction is formulated to determine the optimal parameters of preparation for printing.

The chemical and mechanical methods of preparing metal surfaces before gluing have been examined. The strength test results for shear of adhesive bonds of aluminum and steel samples, the surfaces of which were prepared by grinding, shot-blasting with copper slag and chemical treatment in aqueous solutions of acids before gluing. The best results for shear strength of adhesive bonds are observed for samples whose surfaces were subjected to shot blasting with a copper slag, the worst ones are after chemical method of preparing in aqueous solutions of acids.

Features of the operation and typical damages of standard hydraulic systems’ elements of road-building machines have been analyzed. The occurrence reasons of defects and the elimination ways of them were determined. Methods for eliminating the defects were analyzed, and it is shown that one of the most promising methods for eliminating the defects in liners of hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic lines is the use of polymer composite materials with a fibrous or dispersed filler for the repair.

It is shown that due to peculiarities of the production process of polymer material parts using methods of additive technologies, it is required to carry out post-processing of the surface of the products. The main methods of post-processing, the influence of modes on the properties of the surface and material of the part are considered. The optimal modes and methods of post-processing of parts made of ABS-plastic by FDM-printing methods are shown.

The experimental test results for damage of specimens produced with the use of performs based on glass and aramid fibers are presented. Three types of bonding the polymer and metal parts of the specimens were examined. It has been found out that the best results were for the specimens based of glass fibers. In case of addition of layers of aramid fibers in the performs, strength decreased.

In production and repair of mechanical engineering products, poor preparation of surfaces for gluing leads to a decrease in adhesion or even to the destruction of the adhesive bond. The level of strength of the adhesive bond is determined not only by the absence of contamination on the surfaces to be bonded, but also largely depends on the type of materials to be bonded, the properties of the adhesive used and the geometric parameters of the surface. The analysis results of the quality and roughness of aluminum and steel surfaces obtained by various methods of machining are discussed. The shear test results for adhesive joints are presented. The tests were carried out on adhesive joints of aluminum and steel substrates, the surfaces of which were treated with sanding belts with grit sizes P40, P80 and P120 before gluing. A metal-filled adhesive compound based on epoxy resin with the addition of 3% aluminum powder (by weight) was used as the glue. The character of destruction of the studied adhesive joints is described. Recommendations on method srelection for machining aluminum and steel materials before gluing are presented.
