The paper presents the list of birds of the Cape Martyan Nature Reserve, compiled in accordance with the international concepts of the taxonomy and nomenclature of birds in North-Eastern Eurasia, with a species-specific characteristic of a phenological status and an ecological specificity. It was found that 179 species of the modern avifauna of the territorial-aquatic complex belong to 51 families and 19 orders. Six orders (Passeriformes, Charadriiformes, Anseriformes, Falconiformes, Ciconiiformes, Gruiformes) unite 149 species (or 83.3% of the reserve's avifauna). The main part of the fauna is a group of migratory birds (134 species, or 74.9%), which include transit migrants (78), nesting migrants (16) and species whose local populations are sedentary (4). 39 species nest, 88 winters, including 24 sedentary ones. On summer grounds 21 species were recorded, on migrations - 9 ones. In the ecological structure of the avifauna of the reserve dendrophils (40.2%) and limnophiles (38.5%) dominate, the share of sclerophils is 12.3%, campophiles - 7.8%. Analysis of the seasonal spectrum of the ecological structure showed that limnophiles (42.5%) and dendrophils (35.8%) predominate among migrants, 12.7 and 10.4% are among sclerophils and campophiles respectively. The structure of the wintering complex repeats the migration aspect, and in the nesting complex after dendrophils (64.1%), the second place is occupied by sclerophils (25.6%).

Results of examination of the spatiotemporal dynamics of the hydrochemical mode on discrete aquatic areas of the riverine aquatic complex of a small river during 2001–2010 are presented. Each discrete area examined individually has its own hydrochemical peculiarities.

Purpose. To substantiate the features of the landscape-geographic model of the ecological passport of the lake basin for the needs of preserved and recreational nature management. The article is focused on the acute need in development of ecological passports of local environmentally protected sites for formation of a regional inventory of nature reserve fund. The concept of a natural aquatic complex (NAC) of the lake, a lake-basin system (LBS) served as a methodological basis of the proposed work. The research is based on the methods of field instrumental landscape-limnological searches with the use of laboratory diagnostics of soil samples of the catchment and bottom sediments of the lake, and the landscape-based analysis of the LBS. The results of the study are presented in the form of landscape models of NAC of Ozertse lake and the natural territorial complexes (NTC) of the catchment. Landscape complexes of the rank of a tract and aquatic facies are allocated in the OBS of Ozertse lake. The geochemical features of the bottom sediments of the water body on the example of one of the points of sounding, hydrological and morphologic-morphometric parameters of NAC of the lake and its catchment, and the landscape-metric characteristics of the integrated lake-basin system are analysed. Conclusions. The developed landscape-geographic model of the lake basin system will be a base for the ecological passport of Ozertse lake. Ecological passports of such type are needed for ecological, tourist-recreational, water management and land reclamation institutions and establishments, as well as for the newly formed united territorial communities.

Dynamics of cytomorphological characteristics of oocytes in ovaries is considered for two sturgeon hybrids: besters of the breed Burtlevskaya Huso huso (Linnaeus) x Acipenser ruthenus (Linnaeus) and the breed Aksayskaya Acipenser ruthenus x ( Huso huso x Acipenser ruthenus ) on the experimental data obtained under controlled conditions in the aquatic complex in Moscow (Russia) in 2010-2012. Methods of intravital eggs extraction, ultrasound diagnostics, biopsy with the probe, anesthesia and histological analysis are applied. Structure of membrane is similar for straight sturgeon species and hybrids, but the membrane thickness and the term of its emergence on certain maturity stage are somewhat different, so the eggs of bester could be distinguished by the oocyte membrane thickness. Mean interspawning interval for the hybrids in conditions of recirculation aquaculture system at water temperature 20-21 °C is determined as 10-12 months.

From Pontryagin’s Maximum Principle to the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex; we develop the theory and generate implementable time efficient trajectories for a test-bed autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). This paper is the beginning of the journey from theory to implementation. We begin by considering pure motion trajectories and move into a rectangular trajectory which is a concatenation of pure surge and pure sway. These trajectories are tested using our numerical model and demonstrated by our AUV in the pool. In this paper we demonstrate that the above motions are realizable through our method, and we gain confidence in our numerical model. We conclude that using our current techniques, implementation of time efficient trajectories is likely to succeed.
