To prevent the filtration of groundwater into the used underground structure in operation through its lining, it is proposed to make two waterproofing shells by the underground method around the outer surface of the lining of an underground structure; the upper one is made of the soil mass compacted by cementation with reduced water permeability and the lower one is made of the silicate cement. To make the upper shell, boreholes are drilled from an underground structure through its lining and the cement mortar is alternately injected through them into the watered ground providing its hydraulic fracturing; and to make the lower shell, injection pipes with a diameter of 102-152 mm are installed between the boreholes in the lining flush with its outer surface, the silicate cement mortar is alternately injected into the injection pipes, an incipient crack is created between the outer surface of the lining and the ground under the action of the mortar injection pressure on the ground opposite the injection pipe, an incipient crack is hydraulically extended along the contact of the lining with the ground and filled with the silicate cement mortar until refusal to absorb it. To determine the optimal parameters of the hydraulic separation process, tests were carried out on the laboratory table simulator.

Abstract This paper presented a fundamental investigation on the exit-chipping formation mechanisms involved in rotary ultrasonic drilling (RUD) and conventional drilling (CD) of glass BK7. It was found that the mutual tool-material extrusion initially activated the subsurface crack with the maximum depth (incipient crack) at the margin of the machined surface, and its penetration of the undrilled thickness brought about the emergence of the exit-chipping at Region I. Subsequently, the opposite propagations of two ring-cracks along the circumferential direction of the drilled hole were conducive to the collapse of the machined cylinder, thus leading to the appearance of the exit-chipping at Region II. Ultrasonic superposition significantly decreased the actual undrilled thickness of the machined surface, while slightly increased the exit-chipping width. All the exit-chippings, generated with and without ultrasonic, exhibited the elliptic and symmetrical morphologies accompanied by the corrugated stripes winding the entire chipping surfaces. The quantitative relationship between the instantaneous extrusion pressure and the propagation direction of the incipient crack was proposed, revealing that the propagation angle was inversely proportional to the extrusion pressure. Ultrasonic superimposition augmented the extrusion pressure exerted the machined surface, which reduced the propagation angle of the incipient crack. The elliptic morphology characteristics of the exit-chipping were attributed to the parabolic variation of the additional bending moment with the circumferential spreading of the ring-crack. Ultrasonic superposition increased the propagation angle of the ring-crack, thus deteriorating the exit quality of the drilled hole.

Centrifugal compressor is a piece of key equipment for factories. Among the components of centrifugal compressor, impeller is a pivotal part as it is used to transform kinetic energy to pressure energy. But it usually leads to blade crack or failure as irregular aerodynamic load effect on the blade. Therefore, early crack feature extraction and pattern recognition is important to prevent it from failure. Although time series analysis for monitored signal can be used on feature extraction, incipient weak feature extraction method should be investigated. In this research, pressure pulsation sensors arranged in close vicinity to crack area are used to monitor the blade crack and feature extraction. As there are different kinds of flow interference, the pressure pulsation signal for centrifugal compressor is full of nonlinear characteristics. Therefore, how to obtain the weak information from monitored signal is investigated. Although FFT and envelope analysis have been widely used for rotating equipment, they are not suitable for the determination of incipient crack of a blade as the signal modulation and noise interference. In this research, stochastic resonance is used for the pressure pulsation signal. The results show that it is an effective tool to blade incipient crack classification on centrifugal compressor.

Centrifugal compressor is a piece of key equipment for factories. Among the components of a centrifugal compressor, impeller is a pivotal part as it is used to transform kinetic energy to pressure energy. The blades are exposed to centrifugal forces, gas pressure, and the friction force which usually lead to cracks. Therefore, early crack feature extraction and pattern recognition are important to prevent it from failure. Although time series analysis for monitored signals can be used on feature extraction, it is not enough. So the incipient weak feature extraction method should be investigated. In this research, pressure pulsation sensors arranged close to crack area are used to monitor the blade crack signal and extract the feature information. As the different kinds of interference of flow, the pressure pulsation signals for a centrifugal compressor are full of nonlinear characteristics. Therefore, how to obtain the weak information from monitored signals effectively should be investigated. A method on blade crack classification is present by continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and envelope spectrum in this research. Simulation signal analysis and experimental investigation on blade crack classification are carried out to verify the effectiveness of this method. The results show that it is an effective tool for blade incipient crack classification for a centrifugal compressor.
