Phenanthroline-based microporous organic polymer (Phen-MOP) is synthesized via a cost-effective method based on the Scholl reaction. After post-modification with Pd(OAc)2, the synthesized Phen-Pd-MOP is a highly efficient heterogeneous catalyst for C–C coupling reactions.

Highly stable COF supported Pd(0) and Pd(ii) nanoparticles (i.e.Pd(0)@Tppa-1 and Pd(ii)@TpPa-1) have been synthesized. Pd(0)@TpPa-1 serves as a robust and efficient heterogeneous catalyst for copper free Sonogashira and Heck coupling reactions under basic conditions, whereas Pd(ii)@TpPa-1 satisfactorily catalyzes intramolecular oxidative biaryl synthesis under acidic conditions.

Silver nanoparticles were immobilized on fibers to create composite materials. The composites are shown to be efficient heterogeneous catalyst with very good recyclability. These composite materials are also proven to be good SERS substrates.
