This study reports a hard carbon material derived from a waste biomass of corn cob and the influence of carbonized temperature on electrochemical performance. This study provides a promising anode material with low cost, high initial coulombic efficiency and excellent cycle performance, making sodium-ion batteries closer to practical applications.

In this study, Co/Ni-MOF-74-derived CoNi2S4 nanoparticles embedded in porous carbon (CoNi2S4@C) were successfully prepared using Co/Ni-MOF-74 as precursor. And, CoNi2S4@C exhibits excellent electrochemical performance as an anode material for sodium ion batteries.

A graphene/N-doped porous carbon nanofiber (RGO/NPC) composite was designed as an anode material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). A microstructure of fine and uniform N-doped porous carbon nanofibers decorated on 2D RGO sheets was obtained.
