Abstract Map and geospatial information is an essential tool in many fields of human activities. Although cartographers were extensively involved in cognitive map design research during the second part of the 20th century, the map use process as well as the significance of individual map design elements have not been studied in sufficient depth. The article discusses the results of a controlled experiment. The exploratory study aimed to simulate the execution of some problem-solving tasks based on the information derived from thematic maps with differently designed legends, viz.: list-legend, grouping-legend and natural-legend. On the basis of think-aloud protocols, it has been confirmed that some differences in map reading depend on the legend used.

Administrative creativity plays an important role in improving the performance of workers in companies in general, whether public or private. One of Iraq's telecommunications companies was chosen as a case study to investigate the role of company management in improving the job performance of its employees. By polling a sample of corporate personnel and encouraging them to be more creative and innovative. The study came to a number of conclusions, one of which is that administrative creativity has a significant role in increasing the performance of valued personnel and within the parameters of good performance. Increased understanding of the relevance of creativity and its successful role in increasing employee performance is required for the adoption of administrative creativity in all of its aspects at the core of administrative operations. More attention should be paid to the power of rewards, and providing rewards of all kinds to its creative and distinguished employees in order to encourage them to generate new ideas, implement appropriate change that leads to problem solving, and thus face the era's crises and challenges by holding ceremonies in which the creators of them are honored, according to the study. The report also suggested that the importance and role of staff development be emphasized as one of the techniques that branches can use to improve their employees' performance.

While collective identifications of diasporic Kurds have attracted considerable scholarly interest, their possible role in familial processes of post-trauma reconstruction has hardly been studied. The aim of this article is therefore to develop an explorative understanding of the deployment and meaning of collective identifications in intimate family contexts by examining the interconnectedness between the transmission of cultural and political belonging and post-trauma meaning-making and coping in Kurdish refugee families. After contextualising diasporic Kurds’ collective identifications through an ethnographic depiction of the Kurdish diasporic community in Belgium, this article reports on findings from a small-scale, exploratory study with five Kurdish refugee families in Belgium. Thematic analysis of family and parent interviews indicates how cultural and political identifications may operate as sources of (1) dealing with cultural bereavement and loss; (2) commemorating trauma; and (3) reversing versus reiterating trauma.
