During the welding of the wall plate of cylindrical structure, the edges of cylinder generates obvious wave-like deformation and affects subsequent assembly. In this paper, based on the numerical simulation method, welding deformation controlling by pre-stress method is studied. The effects of the pre-stress level and the welding sequence on the final deformation are discussed. The results show that the level of pre-stress can obviously control the welding deformation of the longitudinal beams, but can not control the welding deformation of transverse beams. Using the selected welding sequence: welding transverse beams firstly, exerting pre-stress, and then welding longitudinal beams, this welding sequence can reduce the wave-like deformation after welding.

Generally, equipment or mechanical parts are worn out by abrasion, impact, erosion, and environmental corrosion. To reduce these losses, the welding that wears the surface of the material with abrasion or corrosion resistance is called overlay welding. Corrosion and high temperature oxidation are very important factors in overlay welding material selection because they have a great effect on wear rate. Typical equipment is made of carbon steel, stainless steel or a material that is not wear resistant. Therefore, overlay welding is applied to parts where the parts themselves are subject to severe wear or corrosion. The diffusion of chlorine and alkaline ash during the combustion process causes foiling, corrosion, and erosion in the water wall panel & tube which is a heat transfer device. In order to protect the water wall panel & tube from various chemical and physical phenomena occurring during the combustion process, heat-resistant alloy steel such as Inconel is overlay welded on the outer surface of carbon steel pipe. However, since the length of the water wall panel & tube is more than 7 meters, the deformation after overlay welding is very large and the straightening work requires a lot of time and money. Also, since cooling water flows through the pipe during welding, the temperature of the cooling water also affects the welding deformation. In this study, welding process sequence and coolant temperature are optimized to minimize welding deformation during overlay welding.

A high Computational Complexity of welding deformation Simulation for large hydraulic excavator is visible. Similitude theory is a better way to solve the problem. When neglecting the energy change caused by elastic and plastic deformation, and supposing the geometry similitude of plastic deformation zone, and having the same stress for the plastic deformation zone of the same materials, similar rules of the single-pass welding based on temperature field had been deduced. But we don’t know whether they are effectual for the multi-layer-pass welding. For validating it, a numerical simulation was carried out through simulating the welding process of large hydraulic excavator’s swing arm. And we got the better results. The similar rules deduced on the single-pass welding are also applicable for multi-layer-pass welding under the conditions of the same weld numbers and the same welding sequence.

Connection process of welding has many characteristics, such as high efficiency, simple and low cost. The change of welding sequence makes the stress and welding deformation changed, so welding sequence has larger influences for welding deformation. The proper welding sequence is important to reduce the deformation of the workpiece, improve the process quality of the product, reduce the electrode wear, increase the service life of welding machine. This paper according to the zhengzhou Nissan C16 models under the left engine cabin wall welding assembly, by comparison, different welding sequence draws the conclusion: in the welding process of sheet metal, irregular alloy steel workpiece thin will appear in size and shape in the stamping process, especially the two or more than two pieces of sheet metal combined welding to be used welding sequence suitable to reduce the deformation and error in the process of welding. For the sheet metal parts of irregular shape, with the gap bending degree and joint surface big welding area is the first welding object, to fit a small gap region is the second welding object, then from the big regional joint gap to fit clearance small area welded, solder joints of welding can be uniformly distributed, according to the results of the analysis to formulate reasonable welding sequence, can provide a theoretical basis for the formulation of welding technology in actual production. Therefore, welding sequence is particularly important.
