Nerve conduction velocity has been reported to have a positive relationship to degree of myelination. In this study peripheral motor nerve conduction velocity was found to be dependent on the conceptional age but independent from the birth weight of preterm, full-term, and small-for-dates newborn infants, plus twins of different birth weight.
