AbstractWe show that every 3-$$(\alpha ,\delta )$$ ( α , δ ) -Sasaki manifold of dimension $$4n + 3$$ 4 n + 3 admits a locally defined Riemannian submersion over a quaternionic Kähler manifold of scalar curvature $$16n(n+2)\alpha \delta$$ 16 n ( n + 2 ) α δ . In the non-degenerate case we describe all homogeneous 3-$$(\alpha ,\delta )$$ ( α , δ ) -Sasaki manifolds fibering over symmetric Wolf spaces and over their non-compact dual symmetric spaces. If $$\alpha \delta > 0$$ α δ > 0 , this yields a complete classification of homogeneous 3-$$(\alpha ,\delta )$$ ( α , δ ) -Sasaki manifolds. For $$\alpha \delta < 0$$ α δ < 0 , we provide a general construction of homogeneous 3-$$(\alpha , \delta )$$ ( α , δ ) -Sasaki manifolds fibering over non-symmetric Alekseevsky spaces, the lowest possible dimension of such a manifold being 19.

In this paper we present a study on geometric structures modeled after homogeneous contact manifolds and show that on Fano manifolds these geometric structures are locally isomorphic to the standard geometric structures on the model spaces. This conclusion is analogous to those of [13, 7]. We expect that this work will help prove the conjecture that a compact quaternionic Kähler manifold of positive scalar curvature is a quaternionic symmetric space [21].

A Vaisman manifold is a special kind of locally conformally Kähler manifold, which is closely related to a Sasaki manifold. In this paper, we show a basic structure theorem of simply connected homogeneous Sasaki and Vaisman manifolds of unimodular Lie groups, up to holomorphic isometry. For the case of unimodular Lie groups, we obtain a complete classification of simply connected Sasaki and Vaisman unimodular Lie groups, up to modification.

Abstract We give a complete classification of dynamical invariants in 3d and 4d Higher Spin Gravity models, with some comments on arbitrary d. These include holographic correlation functions, interaction vertices, on-shell actions, conserved currents, surface charges, and some others. Surprisingly, there are a good many conserved p-form currents with various p. The last fact, being in tension with ‘no nontrivial conserved currents in quantum gravity’ and similar statements, gives an indication of hidden integrability of the models. Our results rely on a systematic computation of Hochschild, cyclic, and Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology for the corresponding higher spin algebras. A new invariant in Chern-Simons theory with the Weyl algebra as gauge algebra is also presented.

We provide a strong condition holding for nil-clean quadratic elements in any ring. In particular, our result implies that every nil-clean involution in a ring is unipotent. As a consequence, we give a complete classification of weakly nil-clean rings introduced recently in [Breaz, Danchev and Zhou, Rings in which every element is either a sum or a difference of a nilpotent and an idempotent, J. Algebra Appl. 15 (2016) 1650148, doi: 10.1142/S0219498816501486].

AbstractThe problem of classification of $$(P\hbox { and }Q)$$(PandQ)-polynomial association schemes, as a finite analogue of E. Cartan’s classification of compact symmetric spaces, was posed in the monograph “Association schemes” by E. Bannai and T. Ito in the early 1980s. In this expository paper, we report on some recent results towards its solution.

In this paper, we present a complete classification of Bianchi type II spacetime according to Ricci inheritance collineations (RICs). The RICs are classified considering cases when the Ricci tensor is both degenerate as well as non-degenerate. In case of non-degenerate Ricci tensor, it is found that Bianchi type II spacetime admits 4-, 5-, 6- or 7-dimensional Lie algebra of RICs. In the case when the Ricci tensor is degenerate, majority cases give rise to infinitely many RICs, while remaining cases admit finite RICs given by 4, 5 or 6.

The main purpose of this paper is to study the properties of transversally harmonic maps by using Bochner-type formulas. As an application, we obtain the following theorem between compact Sasaki manifolds: Let f be a transversally harmonic map from compact Sasaki manifold M to compact Sasaki manifold M′, and M′ has a strongly negative transverse curvature. If the rank of dTf is at least three at some points of M, then f is contact holomorphic (or contact anti-holomorphic).
