The race at 50 meters in freestyle swimming technique can be divided into four main phases -start, swimming at the surface, turn, and finish. With the usage of our measuring system called Tachograph, we mainly analyse the speed of swimming at the surface. Measuring principle does not allow accurate measurement of the speed after starts and turns, for that reason we evaluate the particular sections without the influence of the start and finish. We focused on the evaluation of the ratio of the measured mean swimming speed measured by the system Tachograph with the results of the current best racing performance from the 50 metre distance. For comparison we have processed the results of swimmers who participated in the semi-finals of 2010 European Championship. Our goal was to establish which results of the swimmers measured by Tachograph are at a sufficient level. The objective of the work has been accomplished with the help of statistical methods. Furthermore, we have ascertained that our recorded results differ from the results of elite swimmers whose results have been gained from the evaluation of the sections of swimming at the European Championship. We assume that the race results of our measured swimmers will differ as well. The error may be caused not only by the lack of motivation of the swimmers but also due to the constraints that our measurement system causes.

After analyzing noise and disturbance in FBG temperature sensing network, three different kinds of statistical methods are processed in experiment as pretreatment to deal with inaccuracy of data fusion results caused by outliers. After replacing outliers with statistical estimated value of three methods respectively, weight minimum mean square error (WMMSE) algorithm is operated to fuse majorized data. Pretreatment makes full use of sensors’ data, meanwhile, accuracy and robustness of measurement system are enhanced. Variances of the fusion results indicate that pretreatment can improve fusion results significantly. Fusion variance without pretreatment is 2.9762, larger than mean value method’ variance 1.9525, median method’s 1.3341 and trimmed mean method’s 1.6016.

Reconfigurable system is desired in measurement applcation for low-cost products and short time to market. In this paper, we propose a software architecture of dynamical reconfigrualbe virtual instrument, which is built on component based array. In our architecture, the measurement system software is viewed as an integration of a set of reusable components, which are modelled with a set of event-based extern interfaces, internal interfaces for modifing own properties, a data process logic for executing own behavioural specifications and a series of communication ports for data exchange with others. The behaviours of the measurement system software can be viewed as an integration of components and their interactions, which is based on Extend Markup Language (XVIML). XVIML based dynamical interpreter and components based reassembled model are introduced to implement reassemble. The software can be easily reconfigured by changing reusable components and their interactions to adapt to the changing application requirements. Finally, a reconfigurable measurement platform based on above software architecture for testing engineering signal has been developed.
