Efficient multi-dimensional data indexing mechanism is one of the fundamental requirement for Grid computing systems. Peer-to-peer organization of Grid resource discovery approach would have several desirable features, including high scalability, high reliability, self-organization and self-healing. Most of the research in this area only considers static resource.In this paper, we describe a tree vector indexing scheme for Grid systems, in order to support range queries and at the same time preserve the important attributes of grid systems.

Distributed exascale computing systems are the idea of the HPC systems, that capable to perform one exaflop operations per second in dynamic and interactive nature without central managers. In such environment, each node should manage its own load itself and it should be found the basic rules of load distribution for all nodes because of being able to optimize the load distribution without central managers. In this paper proposed oscillation model for load distribution in fully distributed exascale systems and defined some parameters for this model and mentioned about feature works.

This chapter identifies challenges and requirements for resource sharing to support high performance distributed Service-Oriented Computing (SOC) systems. The chapter draws attention to two popular and important design paradigms: Grid and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) computing systems, which are evolving as two practical solutions to supporting wide-area resource sharing over the Internet. As a fundamental task of resource sharing, the efficient resource discovery is playing an important role in the context of the SOC setting. The chapter presents the resource discovery in Grid and P2P environments through an overview of related systems, both historical and emerging. The chapter then discusses the exploitation of both technologies for facilitating the resource discovery within large-scale distributed computing systems in a flexible, scalable, fault-tolerant, interoperable and security fashion.
