The variational iteration method (VIM) proposed by Ji-Huan He is a new analytical method to solve nonlinear equations. In this paper, a modified VIM is introduced to accelerate the convergence of VIM and it is applied for finding exact analytical solutions of nonlinear gas dynamics equation.

In the present paper, a computational method for solving nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm Hammerestein integral equations is proposed by using compactly supported semiorthogonal cubic B-spline wavelets as basis functions. Dual functions and Operational matrices of B-spline wavelets via Galerkin method are utilized to reduce the computation of integral equations to some algebraic system, where in the Galerkin method dual of B-spline wavelets are applied as weighting functions. The method is computationally attractive, and applications are demonstrated through illustrative examples.

In this study, the authors employed the quadratic B-spline Galerkin method to solve time fractional order telegraph equations. Three model problems are consideredto implement the method. L2, L∞ error norms and numerical results have been presented in tables. Absolute error graphics for all the exact and numerical solutionshave been given
